But i really hope to speak out about this publicly soon as most people have no clue and are unaware about themselves.
I had several miscarriages and found this out during my 3rd pregnany so i worried endlessly but have beautiful daughter that by God's grace has the normal 46 chromosomes. I have 45 as two had short arms that are non essential for life that broke off and the remaining halves united. So i look normal and suffer no problems other than reproduction. I unlike most of the wonderful women suffering infertiliy don't really have a feritlity problem in the sense that i easily concieve but unless my conception is a perfect one or a balnced one , well i will most likely miscarry and then there is the scary odds of me having a child with severe malformations that will die shortly after birth or survive into adulthood with multiple special needs. So i feel like an outsider as i intrude on your struggles that are somewhat more difficult than mine. at the same time i am blessed to be with you all ... as i sincerely believe we are all i n this together.
I wanted to ensure that i could avoid being faced with a fetal demise or severe malformations as best i can. My translocation is fairly normal but often most people have no idea they have it. I would say this is the reason for multiple miscarriages and for those families with a special needs child. I really wish that chromosome analysis was routine for all people. But then i guess some people prefer not to know. I am so thankful i do know and that my obgyn was so proactive in my diagnosis. While it is sad ... it just makes me more determined to end the grief of miscarriages with me. As i want the best for my babies. Since i have a balanced translocation it means that my eggs are as follows 16% chance of stillborn, 32% chance of miscarriage, 16% chance of baby with severe birth defects that dies shortly after birth or requires life long care, 16% chance of balanced translocation like me so no real issue but will have reproductive problems and then 16% chance of a perfect chromosome baby. So God graced me once with my angel and then this information and now i am taking the available option of pgd and hoping i did right by my faith. I recognise i will be discarding malformed embryos but this is more in line withmy morals than terminating a pregnancy that is trying to make it. I hope this info helps and thanks for the question. =) Now please no feeling sorry for me because i also feel i was given this burden as someone else may not have been able to carry it.

Thank you for sharing your journey. What a beautiful perspective. I admire your strength and your confidence. I am cheering for you in your unique journey!

Cathy,

I was supposed to start stims tonight, but I had 2 cysts at U/S yesterday, so I'm doing 2 days of cetrotide, and go have BW tomo to make sure my estrogen dropped. I'm so frustrated.

J-LYN-Those darn cysts! I'm so sorry. How frustrating it is to be postponed during this process. That really is lame. I hope that the Cetrocide does its thing and that you are up and moving towards IVF very soon!

I had two big follicles show up during my first u/s & only one went away after increasing lupron dosage. So, I am praying this time around we won't have the same problem!
This seems like such a great way to get through this whole process...I would love to get to know you all!

Especially with your insurance running out, it seems like it would be worthwhile to freeze that embryo since FET cycles are cheaper than a full IVF.

Hope things go well tomorrow!

I should have my hubby read these posts so that he knows how lucky he is. ;D I'm doing okay today, if a little grumpy and weepy. For example, we had a great oak queen-sized platform bed that I loved but we decided that when I get pregnant, I'll really want a king-sized plus we'll want to use a co-sleeper and our old bed was really tall. So we ordered a king bed and sold our queen bed and the buyers picked it up today. It's the only bed we've owned since we were married, 17 years ago! I got all weepy when I saw the bed going away ...
