Oh yes, I agree with the "yes, freeze"
at the expense of creating any new embies, the freeze in much cheaper, and many many people have achieve BFP with frozen also. Having more than you need to transfer is a blessing to me, and if your transfer is unsucessful (which we all see alot of) at least you won't have to do another full IVF . I know my clinic just had me sign a waiver for the freeze and it cost 400 a yr to keep them there at the cryo clinic. Blessings, Janet

So exciting! I've heard to ice the area for a good 5-10 minutes before the shot. Here's a great blog entry about IM -- Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters: IM Injections

advice
Quote:
congrats on being so close... so my advice: ice the area... i didn't and well it was more painful the next day, minimal burning when being injected. i triggered novarel not im but subq and do not inject near your pants waistline as i had a circle that grew to 2 in in diameter in my sleep and very close to waistline... it will be tender to touch later. ( i massaged the area immed. after injection, so i may have spread it and do not know if this was better to have a bigger area iritated and no hard knot or if i should have just had the knot) and don't worry because it really is not that bad and well it will lead to ER so you gotta do it. and if it was like mine when i inserted the needle and went to depress the plunger well it seemed to need more pressure. i realize now the medicine was just thicker than my other inj. at the time i was goofy thinking my skin was thickening from all the injections. lol. okay best of luck, you will get through this and the injection itself was hardly different than the other and my thoughts and prayers are with you. ![]()

Hey LadyBug, how's that little army doing? How many are you planning on transferring? I would think that with all those embryos, you could do PGD and 5-days with certainty.

Traci, sorry you were having a crappy day. We are all going to have mood swings while going through IVF. I've warned DH that even though things have been going well so far to remember my hormones are going crazy which might cause me to act a bit crazy. Have you had your first US and bloodwork yet? I have mine on Tuesday and am praying that things are growing the way they should.

Thank you GracieB, Irene, and Jersey for the good advice! I am here to report I survived the trigger shot. I iced it before and had DH massage it afterwards for 5 minutes. It says to use a heating pad, but I didn't have one. My trigger shot was IM...I can never get used to how long the needle is. I guess this will prepare me for my PIO and estrogen shots since they will be IM as well.
Good luck to all the ETs tomorrow! Sending you all !

Nolla! We're happy to have you in our April bunnies group...You're definitely not too late to join.GracieB..I was reading some of your previous postings and you write so eloquently. You could have a greetings card business on the side ![]() Traci...hope your day is going better..only a few more days until you get to start stims..Yeah! Cathy..I too am hoping for a 5 day transfer this time. I told my RE that I wanted to do a 5 day this time if at all possible. Ritu..how are you? How many eggs so far? So the office I go to has many REs and you never know which RE you're going to get on any given day. Last cycle I had a different RE each time I went in. For my originial infertility work up, I had the same RE for all the testing and decision making. Well we was out of town for the entire month of March. He just returned last week and ironically it just worked out that he was the RE that saw me for my 2nd and 3rd u/s this round. Well when I went to see him on Saturday, he said "so you're here for baseline, right?". I said "no, this is actually my 3rd u/s. I started stims at the end of March". Then he said "oh, its been so long since I've seen you." So then I had to let him know that I just saw him 3 days earlier when he did my u/s. How weird! Now, I'm scared that his memory is really going and that he's going to get my results mixed up with someone elses. He's pretty old (looks about 75 yo). I'm just praying that he had an off day and that his memory will return soon. Good luck to all the gals having ER or ET tomorrow...

Hello! It's totally amazing...my fert report yesterday was 44 embryos still actively and rapidly dividing at Day 3. I am definitely scheduled for Day 5 transfer (this Tues. 4/8)--my doc only wants to transfer one embryo. I was shocked about that, but his explanation makes sense due to my age and egg quality. Not sure what my doc wants to do about PGD...I will probably find out tomorrow (my ET day) Thanks for asking!!
