Hi Everyone,

It's been a day or so since I was able to go online and there are so many messages to catch up on which I will try to do later on. I am heading out to work now. Just wanted to send a quick note and let you know i am starting stims tomorrow (menopur and follistim). The meds are supposed to arrive today (nothing like last minute). I am nervous about the menopur since I've heard some bad stories, but I am just gonna suck it up. The lupron injections have been easy but the lupron itself is causing me to have terrible head aches! Oh, and Traci you'll appreciate this, I finally went a bit ballistic on DH. Not purposely, of course, but I got so upset by some innocent comment he made. And he forgot that I might overreact and got defensive. Needless to say we had a stupid argument until we realized, "oh yeah, it's the hormones!" Boy do I hate that. I don't want the hormones to control me--I really need to think before say anything which is difficult to do sometimes.

OK, well, I am off to work. Hope everyone is well, and that there have been successful retrieveals and transfers. I will check the messages later tonight.

malloned - I'm so sorry but if your chances are the same with IUI, I'd definitely do that! Hopefully you'll get a BFP and save ALOT of money.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Everybody has me scared about the constipation. I need to work on a game plan now. Is there a way to prevent it? I haven't done my shopping yet... what kind of anticonstipation meds should I get? I will add it to my list (turkey, grape juice, 1 fresh pineapple,
?constipation meds... )

colace..I start it taking it about 1 month before, so far so good...thanks GOD, my daily ruting is toasted whole wheat bread, 1 cup of grape juice and then take my colace pills and lots of water during the day!

Gracie--hey girl! congrats on your wonderful fertilization report!! that's awesome! you know, when I first considered accepting their offer to put us on A Baby Story, I was thinking definitely NO because it's hard to be vulnerable on TV to all the pain I've had to go through to get here. But you and the other girls have made a very valid point--that more attention should be brought to the struggles so many of us have to go through to actually conceive...especially since so many people take it for granted. I'm definitely giving it more thought... good luck with the transfer!!!!

okay, gotta run, cuz my next patient is waiting! (shame on me!)

Ok, ER tomorrow morning. What's the deal with turkey, pineapple, and grape juice again? When should I start eating/drinking these? Might have to go shopping tonight.

In past threads I have seen ladies start the "Pineapple Protocol" on the day of embryo transfer for 5 days, which is what I am doing too.

I want to recommend probiotics for constipation my favorite is "CULTURELLE".

carrbear, good luck stimming, your are around the same cycle as Traci and I with the same medications!!!

I give my shots in the outer thighs...my stomach is too sensitive!

I dont think there is a "turkey" rule other than eat alot of turkey around the time of implantation. Same with grape juice, just drink a few glasses each day but the pineapple has a specific rule - I think Marcia did it - seems like you get one fresh pineapple and cut it up and eat 1/4 each day and also eat the core.

Hello ladies!!! I had my u/s and b/w ystrdy. My RE saw a few tiny cysts but showed no concerns. Of course I was concern because of my history of cysts I would use birth controls to diminish them but I was confused to why I had the cysts. My nurse said don't worry about them, they're to little to worry about. Ok, well I have to trust in my RE right? The nurse also said I had to wait until my E2 to determine if I start stims today....well my E2 was good so.....today is the day that I start STIMS....

I'm a lil' nervous because I would be giving my own injections but I just have to suck it up and do it. I just hope that I don't experience terrible side effects. The Lupron didn't give me any headahces, it just made me feel real sleepy.

Anyone else starting stims today...I know traci started ystrdy and Carrbear starts tomorrow..

With your IVF, does your package include AH? Is this a common thing RE's do? Does it increase the chances of the embryos implanting?

when will they call you? You're probably pacific time. I hope its nice and lowwwww so you can start your hydrochloric acid, I MEAN your menopur injections...

Thanks for the advice about cutlurelle. I will be going out to buy anything I can at this point! Argh! And thanks for telling me about the convention center thing. Is it free?

BigNY05-Good luck with starting your stims today! My shots never too stung much, but I did get bloated a ton.

My clinic does not have AH included in it's package. It is $500 extra. AH is supposed to increase your chances for implanting for women 35 and up and if you have had mulitple failed IVF. I am doing it this time. I think it's going to work! I'll let you know though.

Are you considering AH?

WOOHOO stims! which ones are you on? Hopefully Rana starts today too. My ivf doesn't include AH but I think my RE is doing ICSI for me. Ive heard different things for AH. I know I read somewhere that it helps with implantation (especially when the eggs are from a mom of "advanced maternal age") but that it can also damage the embryo. I'm gonna ask my RE about it next time I see him. I'm curious as to what others think about it or if they're doing it.
