oh - and I was wondering what you gals did (if anything) to prevent yeast infections. I hear it's common to get them while on these hormones and I dont want one to show up right before transfer time. what can I safely take to prevent the lovely yeast infection? what has worked for you?

Nola--can't you find a happy medium between your REs fear of you having triplets and only implanting one? What about transferring 2? I would push for that!!

Jersey--don't be depressed sweetie! Even if you were pregnant with triplets, it still wouldn't show up at this point...it's WAY too early!! wait a few days before trying to POAS again (yeah right, like you're really gonna listen to me... lol)

Praying--i've heard bruising and blood blisters are very common for both levanox and heparin. i've heard that even if you don't normally ice yourself before injections (like many do for PIO), you should definitely ice before AND after levanox to decrease the chance of bleeding/bruising. you poor thing!

Traci, I am so glad that you asked about the yeast infections. I don't think I have one yet, but I am feeling irritated down there (no discharge--sorry if too much information) and am worried that I am getting one. I don't want anything to happen to stop IVF this cycle!! I was actually going to ask about this too today. I know that yogurt with acidophilus helps. And that there are acidophilus pills that help as well. I may run to GNC and get acidophilus pills. I had no idea that the hormones caused yeast infections...oy, I wish I was warned about this. Let me know if you hear of any other ways to stop a yeast infection. Thanks.

Hi Ladies,

So I was burning up at the gym last night. I was riding the bike as usual, but it was much more difficult than it normally is. I decided to circuit to the elliptical (which I do sometimes) because I was feeling very HOT and sweaty on the bike. Hubby and I switched machines, and on the elliptical I started to feel even worse within about 3 minutes of using it. I was burning up, sweating a lot more than usual and felt nauseous. I had to push myself to get through 15 minutes on it. We went to do strengthening ex. afterwards and as I was doing the chest press I was again feel nauseous. I think the hormones are causing my body temperature to be totally off whack. It was painful to workout and that's not normal for me. It's happening at work too. Normally, I am the person who needs to bring a sweater everywhere I go b/c I get cold easily. However, I have been having hot flashes at work. I have not told my co-workers about IVF, so they kid me about going through "the change." Anyone else having these type of reactions?

Okay, so as for my transfer today...I'm not sure what to think. I'll tell you the story. So, DH and I get to the clinic and the embroyologist comes out and talks to us first. He gives us our "family photo" of our little guys and tells us that we retrieved 16 eggs, had 10 fertilized, showed us that 6 of them didn't progress normally, 1 was a morula, and we had 3 blasts. The embryologist said that one of the blasts was great, and the other two were good. However, none of them were "fully expanded".

So, after that conversation, I was happy and so was DH. Last cycle, we were only able to transfer 1 blast and 2 morulas on day 5, so this time we were like, "YES!". But, then our RE comes in to do the ET. THe first thing out of his mouth was, "Well, as you can see, your other transfers didn't work because you have poor embryo quality. Women your age should have 50% of their blasts fully expanded at this point. And well, you don't. "

Okay, I was like WHAT THE HECK?! Who are you? This is the RE who NEVER did a single b/w or u/s or who I even SAW until ER and then at ET. He never ONCE addressed my "embroyo quality" issue in the previous 2 cylces (I paid for 3 up front for a discount), nor did he do testing or suggest pgd, etc.

I honestly think he was just trying to cover his bootie if this didn't work. He just said it so "off the cuff" like I didn't match the statistics so, I must have poor embroyo quality. I was SO mad. Urrr. (thank you for letting me vent...)

Needless to say, DH tried to ignore his little comment and I haven't really exploded about it until now. It's just not the thing you say to a patient while she's been injecting herself for the last month with all sorts of stuff and now lying on the bed thingy with her legs spread eagle as you are about to do the ET in hopes her biggest dream comes true.

I hope no one else has an evil RE.

Regardless, I am not going to let him get me down. So, Yes, I am VERY happy with my results (regardless of evil RE) and just know I will have my babies very soon. December due dates for all of us ladies!

PrayingforBabies--don't let the RE get you upset. He should never have said that to you. I would definitely complain, but do your best not to stress yourself out over this. It's in G-d's hands now, and you've got lots of people praying that your embryos turn into babies(y). We are all sending you positive, relaxing, good thought so tune out what that jerk of an RE said.
