Irene...you should definitely consider acupuncture. MY acupuncturist is awesome! She knows so much about infetility and always gives me so much information and insight. I definitely learn more from her than my RE. My FSH was not super high the first time I tried IVF (around 8.6) but after doing acupuncture for a month, it dropped to 5.8. In addition, during my 1st IVF I didn't have enough mature follicles to continue (had to switch to IUI) but then after acupuncture I had 10 mature follicles. So accupuncture has definitely helped just in this short period of time going to her.
She also wanted my DH to go because of his low sperm count. He was apprehensive because he hates needles but decided to go. Well it turns out that he absolutely loves going...he says it really relaxes him. We go on Saturday mornings and now he's always asking "is it Saturday yet?". He cracks me up.

KathyH...I noticed you're taking DHEA..Ironically I was just looking up on the internet about that the other day. It looks like the studies were really promising so I told myself I was going to go out and get some today. What dose are you taking? Are you doing acupuncture as well? I noticed a big improvement in my cycles after doing acupuncture for a month. The first cycle went poorly with a poor response but my last cycle did pretty well as far as the number retrieved (even if it was a BFN, it was still an improvement).

I take DHEA 50mg in morning and 25mg at night. I do accupuncture right before ET and Right after ET. I was going once a week but no one aroudn here specialize in infertility adn it was 90 a time. So i'm sticking with day of ET for next cycle.

Hey Ladies,
Well, we are getting a little closer to the beginning each day. I guess I'm fortunate enough that I don't have to wait on AF (not sure why). I've started counting down my days until Lupron and Dexamethosone..........only 5 days. I'm just ready to get this started. My anxiety level is increasing the longer I wait. Anyone else starting soon?

MissBish.........How did your test go the other day? Did I miss the post somewhere?

Hope you all had a restful weekend........

Hey girls of April!

So happy to find you all - I'm new to this thread. I am hoping to proceed with IVF in April if does not show her ugly face 2/18. Mamatocaden - I know what you mean about the emotional toll. Especially after we all have been through. I am trying to stay hopeful hanging onto the increased chance of IVF vs. IUI. I know IUI has worked for some people, but it seems like such a gamble. I have a number of friends that know people who have gotten preg from IUI and IVF, so the odds are definitely more in our favor vs. au naturale!
About the weight - I can't believe how much I've gained - between the drugs and comfort food. I told my DH next time AF shows up, I'm going on a hunger strike! But I know it will all be worth it. Funny to think that I actually tried to lose weight before all this started so that I wouldn't be as heavy when pregnant. Now I'd take on as much weight as possible if only to trade it for a little bundle of joy!
to all!

to the april buddies thread Katy! Natural vs IVF, All I can say is that there is a 25% chance in natural whereas in IVF there is a 40-60% chance. Dont know the stats about IUI. So there!

Hey Janice, thanks for the dance. I cant wait to get started now!

My SIL(my DHs sis) is 38 and is a doctor. She is late by 10 days and is hoping AF doesnt show up. ( HPTs have come back faintly positive!) She has been ttc for 2 years now. This will be the first baby for her! She seems so calm and composed whereas I am more freaked out than her!!! I am just praying that it sticks... There is no guarantee of my DHs sperm being able to fertilize my eggs, so atleast she will be able to give my DHs father and mother some grandchildren....
Surprisingly, I am not at all jealous! Just supremely happy for her! Maybe becuase I am expecting to be in the same boat a couple of months from now...?
Anyways, here I am waiting for AF to show (she is late by 2 days now) and there my SIL is praying for it to stay away. Thats life I guess
Lots of to her and everyone who is newly pregnant

Ritu,

I think it's easier to be happy for someone who's been trying longer than 3 months to get pregnant. That's great that after 2 years it may have finally happened for her. Hope AF shows up for you soon

THis is so off topic..........The weather here is driving me crazy. For the first time in a long while, it has been so cold, but this weekend it was around 65F. The break in the cold spell was so appreciated. Now, it's wet outside from the storms we had all night and about 20F again. Ughh!!! Spring where are you?????

lol Jana, POAS- Pee On A Stick!(although the HPTs I have ever used are all Pee In a Cup PIAS? type!)
I hope the weather improves there, here its so perfect, its almost like paradise! Nice and sunny during the day and breezy in the mornings and evenings. I am just dreading the summer months when it would become sweltering hot! It gets impossible to go out in the sun.
Hopefully by then I would be busy getting pampered..

Thanks for the info. There are so many acronyms, which is great, but sometimes hard to figure out. Glad the weather is so wonderful for you. We've been couped up for so long here that everyone is just about to go crazy. It cab always be worse though.
