This may be a dumb question, but are you supposed to eat organic foods while TTC...If so, why? I'm just wondering because I don't usually buy organic, but if it's supposed to help then I will definitely try it!

Hoping to join you!

Hello Ladies,
I am hopeful that I will be joining you in April for a donor egg cycle. My younger sister has her first appointment with my RE tomorrow to be my donor! We are nervous, excited, and hoping for a BFP in April/May.

Good luck everyone!

According to the nutritionist I know, there is no nutritional value in eating organic. People talk about the hormones given to animals transferring to us when we eat, but my husband who has a Ph.D. in meat science says you get huge amounts of estradiol from eating lettuce or spinach than you do from a hamburger.

I researched DHEA online I put myself on it. I'll find out next how RE feels about. I went to Vitasprins.com they were the cheapest. I'm finally starting accupuncture and massage therapy so I can have a positive outlook on the next IVF and work towards more eggs and embies. taking it a step at a time.

I'm excited about starting IVF again more so than the first IVF we did at the beginning of February. I should lose a ton of weight but not happening by next week

Welcome Laurengator! Good Luck with the appointment.
And I believe we should just eat whatever we want to.After all, IVF is an emotional roller coaster and adding diet restrictions would make us more stressful

Jana, you pronounce your name with a 'y' or 'H' or 'j'?
In my language, Jana with a J pronounciation means sweetheart

Hi Ladies...I also changed my diet quite a bit. I cut out all caffeine and alcohol and only buy organic food. I also buy only free range chicken now and cut out red meat (my acupuncturist said no red meat). I also have a fruit smoothie every morning with flax seed added. I also started taking DHEA supplements a few days ago to help with egg quality.
As far as lifestyle change, DH and I do acupuncture once a week with electrostimulation. I also do the treadmill for 1/2 hr a day for 4-5 days a week.

Cathyh...I have to drive an hour for my acupuncture treatment because it was the closest person that handles infertility acupuncture. I figure its worth it. My insurance pays up to 24 visits a year after a $300 deductible so it lessens the cost substantially.

Hmmmm.....never heard of turkey helping with fertility..maybe I'll try that.

Hope everyone is doing well...

I just found accupuncture 30 mintues away so I'm pretty excited I start a week from today. How are you doing on DHEA I haven't seen any side effects however I already had most of the side effects. I O on my own this cycle!!!!!!! I can tell cause my right side aches and my bb's hurt like last cycle when I was on all the stims and prog. Only thing that sucks is I O'd on the side that is blocked. Oh well maybe a good sign when I start stims for IVF 2.

have a great day I'm in a literacy training for preschool children all day.

I don't really want to get into a debate about the value of organics, so let's just say that I believe in keeping my body as poison free as possible, especially now.

I tried a lot of prenatals before I found one that didn't make me sick. I use Rainbow Light Prenatal One. It's food-based which seems to be the trick.

Wow, that's a cool insurance benefit! Mine doesn't cover it but I'm hoping to talk my skeptical DH into letting me do it this cycle.

Just saw the title of this thread and wanted to send a shout out to all you April ladies. There are a bunch of us who were April buddies together and then we became Jan Due Date buddies together! We've become very close and stayed in contact throughout. April was a charmed month for us all and here's hoping that the trend continues in 2008 for you April girls!

Best of luck!

Organic fruits and veggies are grown without harmful herbicides and pesticides. These harmful chemicals don't always wash off either. Fruits and vegs that you eat the peel have the largest loads of chemicals (like strawberries, blueberries etc) I don't worry as much about buying organic if it's a fruit or veg that you can peel - like bananas, kiwi, etc b/c the fruit is more protected.

It may just be me but I think organic foods taste better too.

Acupuncture now or wait?

you have all twisted my arm and I think I'm gonna try it!(acupuncture) I found a place and it is $60 per session. I am still 5-6 weeks away from my ER and ET date. I have limited $$ (enough for 8-10 sessions) for this so should I start going a few times now and spread it out or go several times right around Stimming/ER/ET? what would you do? Thanks so much guys
