Congrats Marcia! It looks like we both had 2 ectopic pregancies. Was there any explanation given to you for them? My dr. doesn't know why, so I was just wondering.

Irene_Adler-You're right! AH does mean assisted hatching. This is my first time doing AH. My RE decided to do it this time to help with implantation. All of my factors have been great-embroyo quality, uterine lining, etc. for both IVFs. It's just that those little ones don't seem to want to attach!
So, my RE advised AH for my protocol this time as it assists with breaking the outer lining. After further testing after my 2nd IVF, they found I also have a blood clotting disorder and that I don't absorb folic acid well. So, I will also be on Lovenex and a HIGH folic acid vitamin this round as well. I think the idea is to make sure your RE tries something new with each IVF. Hopefully you will get your big fat belly the first time around!

Nope I will never know why my tubes were bad... After my first surgery the Dr. said he saw some minor adhesions on my other tube had had removed them but I don't know the cause of them... after my 2nd I chose to have my other tube removed so not to have another ectopic again.

Marcia9043-That is so interesting. I just wish I knew it was due to endo or something. But, they removed my right tube after my first ectopic and looked at my left tube during the surgery. Everything looked fine in my left tube at the time, but then I had another ectopic just 5 months later. I still have a partial left tube in hopes that one day I'll have a miracle. But, for now, I am here at IVF.
I'm not sure if you've done blood testing or anything, but they found I have a "thick" blood that makes things clot more then they should. They said that could have had something to do with my ectopics. I am going to be on a blood thinner for this round. It's good to have someone who understands the horrific experience of an ectopic pregancy. I'm glad to be an April Buddy with you!

TTC 13 years Live in Maine with 1 dog, 2 cats and a bird 1 brand new puppy chocolate lab Riley 1 furbaby in doggie heaven First IVF FEB 2008 2/9 ET 3 transferred 1 @ 5 Cell grade 3 , 4 Cells grade 3 and 1 @ 4 cells grade 2 AF started on Feb 19th. 2/28/08 started DHEA 75 mg FSH lowered!!!! in only 2 months of taking dhea May 2 ET 3dt all grade 3 (1) 5 cell and (2) 4 cell 5/11/08 spotting BETA 5/13/08 11dp3dt 68 BETA 5/16/08 14dp3dt 157 p4 30.1 BETA 5/20/08 18dp3dt 394 p4 27.4 BETA 5/22/08 20dp3dt 733 p4 37.5 BETA 5/28/08 26dp3dt 8489 1st U/S May 27th 5 week gestational sac (should be 6 wks) 2nd U/S June 5th saw one little bean with hb of 119-122 3rd U/S June 19th meauring 8 weeks 5 days hb 138 U/S July 17th 13 weeks hb 158 u/s October 8 everything is on schedule C-Section scheduled for January 15, 2009 It's a BOY!

I have asked this question a few times and have not gotten an answer....I am expecting AF any day now and will be starting stims on Sat. Is there any reason why it should not be ok to wear tampons during this AF ..... probably just me over reacting but I keep wondering about it. I know since I am participating in a medical study they have a very strict regulations to follow but I hadn't heard anything about that from them anyone ever asked or been told or am I just over thinking this. Thanks

My RE never said not to use tampons. On one site and only one site on the evil web it said do not wear tampons because they can hold in bacteria and bacteria can grow. Not sure if it it legit or not. Call your RE or talk to his nurse they'll let you now for sure. I'm thinking of skipping them myself for my upcoming cycle in April cause I'll start stims day 2 of my cycle. Good luck to you Cathy
