Thank you, Hopeful07! I love the name "cyber nieces and/or nephews". My Beta is scheduled for Monday, April 14, which seems an eternity away. This is the hardest part. Doing absolutely nothing but getting these egnormous shots in your backside each night that hurt like the devil and then waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting!

Thank goodness I have some wonderful ladies to wait with. Thank you.

Hopeful07, when do you go in for another U/S?

Hopeful2008 - woohoo AF is here! Probably the happiest you have ever been to see AF, huh? everything looks good so you can get to stimming.

Hopeful07 - I totally agree with everything you said about the preg man. That's why I said "pick a gender" and stick with it. Men do not want to be pregnant. I also think it's weird that they allowed them to have a "legal" marriage. How are they different from lesbians that want to marry? just because he takes testosterone & grew a small "penis"?

Malloned10 - I don't think I ever felt much after just 2 days of stimming so I think you're okay. The tenderness and bloat will probably start soon though.

Pineapples (Fresh ONLY)

For everyone who has asked, this is the information I was given on FRESH Pineapple:

Pineapple may help assist embryo implantation because it contains bromelain. This proteolytic enzyme breaks down proteins that can inhibit embryo implantation. For this reason I often recommend you consume a whole, organic pineapple after ovulation or embryo transfer. Don't avoid eating the core as it has the highest concentration of Bromelain.

IVF cycle: Slice up a whole, fresh, organic pineapple into five equal portions. Consume one portion daily for five days, beginning on the day of your embro transfer.

Note: Be careful not to start consuming pineapple too early in the cycle. Beginning to consume pineapple BEFORE the recommended days above can actually affect your vaginal and cervical mucus pH, making it more acidic. Increased acidity can actually DECREASE your chances of conceiving.

My RE yesterday during retrieval reiterated that it cannot hurt.

.... Funny thing is that he even gave me instructions on how to pick a good one! Did you know that pineapples do not rippen much after being picked? (Like Banannas or other fruit). Therefore, you need to try to purchase a ripe one to begin with. You want one that has as much yellow coloring as possible and as little green coloring.

[quote=tracilynn]I just noticed on my calander that I continue lupron (5 units) throughout stimming. Is that normal? I thought I'd lose the lupron when I started stims[/QUOTE

Hi Traci,

My lupron drops tom 5u 2 days before I start stims and then continues while I am on the stims as well.

I think you will be on Medrol. I will be on that too.
I think the medical name for it is methylprednisilone. Here is a link about it. Looks like it is some kind of steroid that they put you on if you have any kind of micromanipulation done ICSI or AH. I'm having ICSI done. It's suppposed to make your body *not* reject the embryos. Long Island IVF

I'm your follies start behaving the way you want them too!

Pags. I am also close to LadyR schedule. I will have my u/s & b/w tomorrow morning. I started STIMS on Monday. I will be letting you ladies know so I can let you know what mine show but I will be 6 days into STIMS.

Ivy - CONGRATS on the 16 eggies and even more CONGRATS on the 15 fertilization. Man, I would be so anxious this weekend. Do you have any plans to occupy your mind?

Malloned10 (Jenny) - sorry about the headaches.

Traci - I am also on 5 units of Lupron during STIMS. I will be on it till the night before ER.

Marcia9043- CONGRATS on fertilization report.

CathyH - how did you get your signature? I have noticed that a lot of ladies are getting that and I am jealous.

2008Hopeful - CONGRATS on getting and starting STIMS.

Cheryl looks like our next April Bunny up for ER. Does anyone know if she is scheduled to have that done?

I watched the Oprah show and I have mixed emotions. I don't want to judge this couple as it is apparent that they truly love each other and this child however, I am still trying to grasp the idea that he is male (wants to be male) but wanted to have a child (which I would think is more of a female desire). I know men can want children but they don't want to birth a child. So with that, I am going to leave it alone and say that I wish the best for them. I just hope that no one cause them harm (because we have to face it, our society can be harsh).

thanks so much, I will just take it easy in the house and go to church on Sunday!

Lots of good growing energy to everyone on stims!!

well there is an amino acid in turkey that is supposedly a precursor to building sticky proteins. So I guess they think that it will make the embies "stick" better - that's a jersey girl thing and her doctor said to do it around time of ER/ET!

Same with Pineapple and supposedly you eat fresh pineapple and also eat the core as the core contains more of the stuff you want but I can't remember what the "stuff " is just that it is supposed to help with implantation.

I can't remember why the grape juice is good either but I'm sure its another implantation trick!

I would love to have twins, 1 pregnancy & 2 babies would be awesome and I'm almost 38 so it's not like I would really have another chance after this and I would like 2 more. The only thing that scares me is if my body can handle it. My daughter was 5 weeks early - no warning, my water broke in the middle of the night. She was small but she was fine, breathing on her own etc but I'm afraid that the same thing may happen with twins - I don't want premature babies and all the health scares etc. I may be on bedrest too. Then I think, why am I so worried about twins, I may *not* be able to get pregant at all - then what?? I guess I'll just see how mine look in culture then decide. If I knew I could have twins and have no risk of problems or premature delivery - I'd do it in a second!

and about your fertile friend. Yes I have one of those too and it's disgusting. She is pregnant with #3 and she got preg the first try with #1 and #3 and #2 happened on the 2nd try and she was stressed out and mad that #2 didn't happen on the very first time! EGADS. Actually they borrowed my crib and her DH found out I was TTC and he said jokingly that he hopes I don't get pregnant before their baby is 2 years old so they won't have to go out and buy another crib. I didn't think it was funny.
Traci and Nikki, I am pretty sure that we will txfr 1-2. DH thinks one embryo makes the most sense given my back pain, but I agree with both of you that twins would be great. 1 pregnancy and 2 children. I am not sure if I mentioned to you guys that we are also adopting a baby from China. There is a LONG wait right now so we probably won't get our baby for 2 or more years. We know at some point we will be parents, but the wait is so difficult. We would love for our chinese baby to have siblings, so hopefully this IVF cycle will be successful.

I am glad that things seem to be going well for our group so far! I will keep sending positive thoughts and prayers to everyone.

That means I am PUPO with triplets ... or as my DH is referring to them as ... Curly, Larry and Moe. (Typical man!)

The absolute worst thing for me is having to do the ET with a full bladder and then having to lay retroverted for 30 minutes afterwards ... all the time with a full bladder. Once they leveled out my bed after the time was up, all of that urine seemed to gush forward (sorry if TMI) and I literally thought I might pee all over the place. Finally, they rolled me to the restroom and I seemed to pee forever. Ladies who have not done ET before -- beware! Luckily, this is the worst part. ET is nothing like ER.

It is so exciting to see so many great retrieval and fertilization numbers. GO APRIL GALS!!!

... for all of your support. I really appreciate it.

Fantastic news about the embies looking so good! You are in the 2WW

I can't believe he hid the laptop from you - he must be brave! That would have just caused me MORE stress. I'm like Ritu, I would have kicked his tail or given him this face >>>

your ET story has me scared! They told me at my mock transfer that my baldder wasn't full enough and it needs to be more full at ET and I was really uncomfortable then! oh well, I hope I don't dribble!

OMG - you're only like 11 days away from a beta , right?
