Yeah- Dh and I went shopping yesterday. I actaully ended up buying a bigger size shorts/capris/skirt- even though the smaller size was okay- I knew in over the next 2-3 weeks I would be bloated, and so nothing would fit. I think I have worn 4 different sizes over the past year! At least I have variety!

I cannot believe that I am already starting to feel those twinges around my ovaries. This is only my second day of stims- but doing 300 iu a day- I guess what did I expect? I've already shot 450iu- I think for my first IUI I did that much total! It'll be interesting to see those follies on Thursday! I have already warned all of my employees that crazy/emotional/crying/irritable/all of the above drugged Lindsay will probably be here later in the week!

Also the Lupron kit question- I have 2 week supply also- and it was only half full. I was a ittle worried it wouldn't be enought- but I've been on 10units a day for 11 days and still have plenty!

Have you ever heard of the Couch to 5K program? We were doing this last year and got off of our schedule when we started thinking of IVF. It's a great walk/running program, and you can download his podcast at the apple/Ipod store for FREE to listen while you walk Not that I'm going to be able to run a 5K by the end of the year....although last year we were at 2 miles...so almost at 5k , this year of course I hope to get a BFP which would leave me out of running a 5K but I can still train like I'm going to run one....until my ER of course You might want to look in to it....I really liked it.

HI there and !
This is a great site full of lots of good info on IVF and everything that goes along with IF, and an amazing bunch of ladies! Feel free to ask anything!

I think I've heard of PGS, but not doing it - don't think my insurance covers it. I was interested in finding out if they do any chromosomal testing however, so would love to hear about what it is.

Again, welcome and best of luck with your IVF cycle!

Hey there - how do you guys do the exercise - do you run up until ER? I am a runner, but have laid off this past year because I was advised that running was too jarring and to stay on a steady course (no major changes). I've been walking a bit but my metabolism my whole life stunk so it never does much for me. And the stims have added about 30 lbs since I started (yikes) last year. I keep saying that if I get pregnant, no big deal - just deal with it later, but am worried about the progressive weight gain. Any suggestions would be welcomed!

Hi everyone!!! I wanted to weigh in on the exercise issue...b/c even though I am a yoga teacher, I've had to decrease my intensity since starting IVF months ago and have gained like 10 lbs!!! Anyway, my understanding is that you can exercise until a few days into stimming and then just walk/mild yoga b/c your ovaries are getting so large that there is some risk of twisting and then losing one...So, I've always slowed down my practice and my running a few days into stimming...and then I just walk/gentle yoga during the 2ww (this is my paranoia though b/c I just don't want to muck up any chances when we are putting so much effort into this...not sure what the doctors say to do during the 2ww).

Katy - I noticed that you had one great embie!!!(actually, sounds like it was GREAT ) so, congrats on being PUPO!!!!!

I went to the RE this morning and it looks like I am good to go as soon as I get AF (who is very quickly approaching - some spotting, so of course, I went out without products in my purse, in light colored pants, went for a run, had sex with DH last night, AND vaccuumed this morning..and she's still not here!!! wth???). Anyway, I should be on stims by the end of the week! woo hoo! I was so worried about cysts b/c AF was so short last time, but I am cyst-free with lots of resting follies:-)

Hope everyone else is having a good day!!!

Sue

Yay Sue that is awesome you get to start stimming this week! Come on !

My Re said I can exercise/do whatever I want all the way up til ER- I was going pretty well exercising and back into the routine for about 2-3 weeks, and have cut back since stimming started- plus I've been swamped with work. I like to exercise, and feel good when I do it- but figure there is no sense in stressing myself out about my weight or if I'm hurting anything with the IVF by doing too much. It sucks- but I think you're just gonna gain when you stim- too much out of our control. I'd rather be happy, not stressed, a little chubby and preg than thin at this point!

That is AWESOME news Sue! Yay You'll be at your ER in no time now!

Did you try the hot bath? Or how about standing on your head (kidding!) I STILL think they need to invent an AF vacuum to get rid of it all faster (sorry, I know it's kind of a gross visual).

Thanks for the exercise tips. I always feel like around AF, that I'm going to be really good with my diet, exercise, etc but then that PMS extreme comes on and I quickly change my mind! I agree, nice gentle exercise is best. We've got to love ourselves, especially now more than ever!

Oh - and thank so much for your prayers and positive vibes. Although I'd like to think I have a super power embie, the little embie didn't make a whole 4 cell jump from Friday to Saturday by itself without God's help and a lotta prayers!

I hear ya Linz. I just did the same thing. DH is always wondering why I am perpetually returning home with bags! At least we'll have a nice selection of clothes to choose from after we have our babies! I know a lot of ladies that have hardly anything to wear until the "get back into" their old clothes. Seems kind of silly to only have 2 sets of clothes.

Hi Linz, we are doing PGS since our RE thinks our misses were chromosome related. They have had this technology for years, but haven't used it for ART until now. The only way you can participate is to be in the study.

Hi Katy,
There is an older version of PGS which has been around since the 80's. It tests the polar bodies of the day 3 embryo (maternal info only). The problem with this testing is it only tests for I think 8 chromosomes. The new study tests all chromosomes as well as male and female information. It definately is not covered by insurance, but none of our IVF tx is covered. Bummer. Terri
