Thanks for all the input on PCOS! I don't know if I techinically qualify for having 2 of the 3 and honestly would prefer not taking it (hate the thought of side effects). I'll re-address it with my RE though and see what he says and if he firmly believes me to have PCOS.

I got my protocol. We are using a different from my 1st IVF. I start Lupron on 4/22 and stems 5/3, expected ER & ET the week on 5/12. Wow here we go again!!!!!

Wow! I was out today and when I returned it took me a while to catch up. Lots of activity on the board.

I was dx w/ lean PCOS because of lack of ovulation and the way my ovaries looked during the ultrasound. My LH is elevated and because of this I have to be on Lupron before I start stims. Usually when stims start they drop your dose of Lupron but they kept mine the same because it was continuously elevated.

FYI - I did not take Metformin for my first IVF and my egg quality was not that great and I did not get pregnant. I took it for my second IVF and had better egg quality and did get pregnant. Same goes for AP. Did not do it for my first but did it for the 2nd and got . I started it again three weeks ago and love it. I feel like is coming soon.

I did eat alot of pineapple and drank the juice during my 2nd IVF. Don't know if it helped but I will do it again. This is the first time that I have heard anything about grape juice. I guess it won't hurt anything.

I still notice if I don't eat enough when I take it, I'll feel sick....I definitely don't like being on it....My RE took me off of it in the fall b/c my liver function came back elevated and they said it was due to that. Since my levels are normal now they put me back on it.....I think they are just going to monitor me every six months or so to make sure my levels are normal.....

Glad to hear you are feeling better with the metformin. It's only been a week since I started it and I can def tell if I don't eat in a timely fashion. I'll have to ask my RE if they'll want to be checking my liver function as well. With that being said, I think I'll head off to have some supper!

Nicole-- they are starting me on Lupron as well before stims & it seems like I'll remain on Lupron a week w/ my stims...I think....
I'm hoping I'll respond well. With my 2nd IUI that was canceled I had 7 days of Follistim & had 10 maturing follies--- my RE called and said we CAN'T do the IUI & I think you need to go straight to IVF. I'm a little worried about OHSS..but I know they'll watch me closely.


I think I might just have to reschedule my consult w/ the APist-- it sounds like several of you had good results, at the minimum at least felt relaxed (we all need that going through IF)....The thought of it makes me a little nervous, but hey I do my own injections w/ treatment so I can handle it right...? LOL

I hope you ladies have a wonderful evening!! I'm off work tomorrow & Friday...YAY...Tomorrow we have to go to my RE which is an hour & a half away for the mock transfer & I think the h20sono.....=)

Kelly-- hang in there w/ the Metformin. If you have been able to tolerate (I know not neccessarily liking it) it for a week give it a another few days to a week & you'll probably be ok with it. I also noticed if I made sure I drank plenty of water during the day it seemed to help- for whatever reason.....

Just curious, but of the May Ladies, who has been diagnosed with Endometriosis? I had Stage III, had a Lap, tried three IUI's not successful. I'm hoping the endo didn't come back so quickly. My RE doesn't seem concerned.
