Man, I'm so behind this morning on this thread! To answer your question, I started out at Follistim 150 for the first 3 days, then dropped down to 75 for the next 4 since my E2 level was going up fairly fast. Well, on Day 8, I went in for an u/s and it showed tons of follicles, at least 40, and that night they still increased my Follistim back up to 150 because my E2 hadn't doubled within the last 48 hours! So, I wasn't terribly surprised that my E2 was skyhigh on Day 10 - 4,091. But I sure had lots of follies. My doctor said that thin PCOS'ers tend to sort of "flare up follicles at the last minute"...and seem to be higher risk for OHSS. I'm not sure if that is the case or if he was trying to make me feel better.

I think it's great that you responded so well to Follistim before, and I think they'll be looking very closely at your past progress to decide how much to give you this time. Plus, you'll be having all the labs to help monitor....did you do the E2's with the IUI? It sounds like your doc is going to be cautious though, which is good. Hopefully you won't end up in a holding pattern!

I've heard that ladies with PCOS overstim more often- mine did say this, and it sounds like your RE is being really cautious too. I produced maybe 4-5 follies on Follistim with 2 of my IUI's-plus small ones, I was on 75iu and then 100iu for a while. And then the third time I responed okay- only 3 follies on Gonal F 150 iu and then 112.5iu. I got mature follies- but the ywere never huge- I think teh giggest were 18-19mm each time. So he really didn't think I'd explode like this. He really just kept saying how surprised he was both Monday and Today. This cycle I started on 150iu in am and 150 iu Follistim per day- so 300iu a day, for 8 days, and then 100 for 2 days.
Sounds like your RE is going to be a little more cautious to begin with-which is a good thing, maybe mine should have been......but he did say- I must be one of those women who is in the middle, and responds to the extreme on either end- lucky me!

Kelly- was your RE surprised with your response?

BTW...good luck today! I'm just catching up but am thinking of you and you get tons of eggs and no OHSS! Can't wait to hear how you do!

My RE just kept saying that I was an "over-achiever"...though I don't think he was really surprised. They knew I had over 50 antral follicles to begin with. I'm not sure why they were stimming the heck out of my poor little ovaries, seeing as they were increasing my Follistim doses as far along as Day 8! I'm sorta glad they got as many follicles/eggs as they did so hopefully we won't have to ever do another ER again.

I'm sorry this is so belated, but congrats on 8 eggies! That's great! I'm sure you've posted a fert report by now, I just haven't seen it yet. Anyways, hope you're feeling ok!

I got my fertilization report this morn. Out of the 13, 11 were mature and 9 fertilized with ICSI.

Great report! That's wonderful news. I'm guessing you'll be doing a 5dt? Congrats!

I called the on call nurse and discussed what I should do (ie if I get the needle really late do I take the Menopur, will this mess up my cycle etc). Ended up getting the needle after 11 PM and taking the Menopur right away. The nurse said it wouldn't mess up my cycle so I'm glad. Very frustrating though

Wow, that is a drama! I'm glad you got things figured out. My RN told me that if I took my meds 2 hours either side of our target time that it wouldn't mess up our cycle, but to really try to stick with the target time. They also told me that most pharmacies would give you needles if you came in showing what you were taking...not sure if anyone has had success doing that, but it was comforting. Of course, you would've needed a 24 hour pharm at that point!

Hey there! That is funny that your DH is giving you a hard time about taking the pills. My DH was given one dose of 4 pills, which was nice...I can't remember if it was Tetracycline off the top of my head though.

Good job on giving yourself the shot last night! You're going to be a pro!

OK girls, I'm done catching up...sorry for the onslaught of posts there - it gets ugly when one gets so far behind!

My update... has stopped by for a visit as of yesterday. I called the clinic to verify that I would need to take a cycle of BCP's to "rest up", but they told me that I could start my Estrace today for a FET on 6/9/08! That was very unexpected since they told me that I would almost certainly have to wait a cycle in between. I had no idea that we could do a FET this soon...

Thinking of you all today and sending you all lots of . Especially those of you going to ER today ( for Linz...lots of eggs, please!), and those drinking the gatorade (Sandy and Elizabeth - hope you girls are feeling ok today), and the rest that are stimming and going for ET. You all are strong girls and incredibly brave to be doing this process!

You know what I remind my lovely DH if he complains recently...recently I asked him to go to the store for me & he was joking with me about it...I said we'll just remember I'll be doing ALL the shots, the vaginal ultrasounds, etc....Now is going to the store really that bad...? LOL...He said good point, grabbed his keys & left....
Remind your DH that taking the meds is covering all your bases & in the scheme of things...its really not that bad!!.....
