Inourdreams _ my first round of IVF I only had 4 follies on each side so 15 and 13 is just amazing. I haven't experienced side effects from BCP except a little moodiness (DH thinks I'm crazy).

Angie - We actually started the IVF process in 2006, but had to put it off a whole year due to cost. We waited until we could change insurances and get one that had coverage. I have found that just because you live in a mandated state it doesn't mean that the company you work for gets their insurance from the state you work in. We acually have blue cross blue sheild of Illinois and we live in NY state.

Good morning girls!

Stephanie to a great group of ladies!

SDtrying - We have the same timeline for our injections! My nurse told me that generally our clinic will try to stim me for 10 days, and that they expect my ER to be around 5/5. Hopefully that's the case! I can't imagine stimming for weeks, like I see some people have done.

Nicole and Valerie - Quitting caffiene last summer while doing the IUI's was the hardest thing for me. You're right to start cutting down early. I figure I can cheat every once in a while as long as I haven't done my ET yet.

Tracy - How exciting to be getting your meds! It's so nice to see something tangible for once...hopefully your next tangible thing will be a beautiful baby!

Angie - I can totally relate to the med problem. Even though I have insurance coverage for meds, it was still really stressful. My hubby wanted me to find the cheapest option (even though we have some insurance). The insurance company told me the best way of doing things is by going through their "preferred" pharms where I would just pay my copay. The only thing was, my clinic had their own recommendations, none of which were preferred pharms for my insurance company. My IVF clinic made it very clear that if I wanted to go with a mail order pharm that I would have to make sure they had weekend hours and could ship overnight in case I needed refills. In the end, I went with one of the IVF clinics recommendations just because I was so freaked out that I might not have the meds I needed in a timely fashion. I'll have to pay upfront and *hope* my insurance company reimburses me rightly.

Migmel - good luck at your appt today!

Inourdreams - When I went for my first IVF u/s, they told me that "I had the ovaries of a 20 year old". Since when was I old enough to be compared to a 20 year old!!! Even though that was good news...geez.

Have a great day everyone!

Shasta18 - Way to go on having "ovaries of a 20 year old"! I think that is the first time I have ever had anything like that so they must be extraordinary ovaries!!!

I'm so impatient ladies! I just want to be in May already or at least further into my cycle.

Jossephine, I hope when we all get closer or are going for procedures you post that, because I can't keep track of everyone and really want to cheer everyone on during whatever phase they are going through. I think focusing on other may help lessen the stress for me.

I already have my meds. My follistim is chilling in the fridge. It's getting closer.

I will try to update the list at least 3 times per week. My work schedule will be crazy for the next 3 weeks so if anyone wants to help I wouldn't turn it down.

May IVFer

Hi Ya'll,

Best of luck to everyone who is going to have their transfer in May! If all goes as planned we'll have our transfer sometime the first week of May. This will be our first fertility treatment. Since we were delayed with the myomectomy surgery, we elected to jump in with both feet and try IVF to start. My twin sister has gone through 3 cycles of IUI, but hasn't had any luck. We shall see.

Okay girls, I need a little encouragement. I got the call from Freedom Pharmacy last night and they told me the list of drugs that my RE called in. I did some research about their prices online and it looks like it is going to cost over $5K! I was only expecting $3-4K. Now I am totalling panicking as my insurance is not covering any of this.

My FSH is 7 and I have an antral follicle count of 13. This is something that we want so badly and I'm willing to do anything but I'm starting to feel like maybe they are being to aggressive with the meds. Here's the list that they gave me..

6 Gonal F 900 pens (This is by far the most expensive)
12 75 unit vials of Lovaris
2 Lupereroid Acetate kits
10 medrol tablets
1 vial of HCG
2 prefilled ovideral syringes
2 PIO vials

Sorry for the long post. Has anyone else had a similar protocal? Maybe I should call the RE and discuss this with them.

Good morning ladies!! I'm glad Friday is almost here!! This thread has lots activity going on!....It looks like lots of you are starting your cycles and moving forward!! for you all!!!!
I wanted to say to all of the ladies joining!!!

I can't wait to start seeing all the May BFP's we are going to have.
I was glad to see some of you talking about what you were doing to prepare for the IVF-- this being my first I want to do everything I can so it will be successful. I'm definitely going to cut out caffeine. Any other suggestions??...I've been working out a few days a week too!

Angie-- I am thinking about going ahead w/ AP. How was your appointment yesterday? I found out that my RE recommends someone if I want to have a session before & after transfer. I was really excited finding that out the other day b/c my RE is 1.5 hours away & if I start AP it will be here where I live......Did everything get worked out w/ the financial decisions? I know that can be a stressful thing.

Kelly-- I try to have a good attitude w/ my SIL, but I don't always...LOL...The hardest thing for me to swallow when I found out she was preggo was finding out her due date was the same due date I had last year (I had a m/c)...It just freaked me out-- like what are the chances...? I'm over it now & feel pretty excited!!...Hopefully I'll stay that way...How's your week so far?.....

Well I'm still over waiting for to show her lovely face!! This can't come fast enough!!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Inyourdreams--I'm not familar w/ all the meds you have listed, but I understand the financial aspect being scary. My insurance picks up a lot of my IVF cycle, but we will still pay several thousand $ out of pocket & it is scary....You just got to think it will be worth it in the end. Good luck to you!!!

Hello fellow IVF ladies! I just got the go ahead to start my cycle. I started BCP's last night and should be on them till the 30th. They gave me an estimate of having my retrieval on May 13.

I had to overnight my day 3 b/w so I am waiting to hear back on that. I'm not that worried about it since we are dealing with male factor but I still can wait to hear that it's ok. It feels so great to finally begin and take control. Even if it is just a little pill at night. Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to see all the we get!
