Transfer

Good morning!
DH and I are back from our ET. Things went smoothly. The embryologist showed us 3 of our best embryos, and said we could transfer 2 or 3. After talking with the doctor, we decided that 3 would be best. There are 7 others still being watched in the lab. Of the 3 that were transferred, 1 is 8 cell and the other 2 are 6 cell.

My beta will be 6/17!

beta today

I'm really nervous about the beta results today.
I had 5 good eggs but post wash sperm was only 80,000. Still I hope. I've had wicked cramps for a week so I've lost most hope.
To top things off it's my anniversary today. I hate to get bad news. It will ruin the day.

Well, back from today's appt 5 of my 7 fertilized using conventional methods...YAY! I'm so proud of my husband's 'boys' LOL They are thinking since I have a lower number of embabies that they are going to do a 3 day...so looks like Saturday is my day (they'll finalize that tomorrow). I'm using the Crinone...YUCK! The nurse said that it wouldn't come back out....I beg to differ LOL Sadly we have to use it in the morning, so I guess I'll put it in at the earliest possible time and then lay back down to see if it stays in better. Someone also mentioned a lot of build up......and getting it out after 2 or 3 days, any comment LOL?

Karystos: Good luck today....I hope they are positive cramps!

Lauren: WOW, sounds great!!! What doc do you see again? Dr. K said I could transfer 3 on day 3....I hope she doesn't change her mind. Is your sister better too? I told them I got sick on anesthesia, sadly they were unmoved by that fact and I threw up all the way home after ER

KGG: good luck...what a great birthday present that would be!!! That's my SIL's birthday too That'll be the day of my Beta as well....so we know it has to be a lucky day now!!!

Sandy: Boy, those numbers sound great!!! Congrats

Jessica: Congrats to you too!!! Since I'm in a study they give me my first Beta 14 days from retrieval...so it'll be early too sadly. I see why your RE made the decision he made too....very smart guy! I pray you get your BFP too...we probably won't have any frozen either, so I'm in the same boat

Karystos--Happy Anniversary!!!

Laurengator--Three sounds great!!! Rest up and enjoy the 2ww. I am hoping a big BFP for you this time.

Indie blue--I have found my soul mate. I just started Crinone yesterday to try and get off the PIO (after 18 shots now--ouch). My RN said to do it in the morning. I'm like "why". I did it in the evening anyway. I did it last night and yes it still comes out in the morning. Now I am wondering how can this stuff work. i was going to do it in the morning once I'm off the PIO but how. What a mess!! I posted else where I'm not complaining b/c the PIO is awful now 3 weeks later but it is a mess!!! I just want it to work. It is suppose to be extended release too so I guess if some comes out it is OK??? You fertilization report looks great!!!

2 week wait

IndieBlue- I see Conway. Are you feeling better? The retrieval meds never seemed to bother me. My sister is doing much better, thanks.

Crinone

I am not sure what Crinone is, but I'm assuming it's a vaginal suppository. I am using Endometrin. I have to take it twice a day for now, but starting tomorrow, 3 times a day. I've noticed some of it coming out too.

I didn't ask the nurse about it, but I hope that's okay.

Lauren: Thanks for answering so quickly Conway did my ER...she's so funny, I like her. So did she mention why they chose to transfer 3? I'm eager to see if my doctor keeps her first thoughts on my ET after tomorrow....but with a 3 day, and since we only have 5 embryo's dividing I'm really thinking 3 will be left on day 3 and we'll take all of them. Just don't really know what all goes in to their decision for 2 versus 3? And this is our first IVF...and our only chance so again, sort of a big decision

Oh and Crinone is a progesterone vag. gel

2 vs. 3

We've been working with Conway since the beginning. She said we could do 2 or 3. We always defer back to her when she says that. I think she considers the embryo quality when debating between the number of embryos to transfer. She said 3, so we said okay.

It's gotta be a great sign that the numbers tripled like that. Did your RE's office say anything? GL tomorrow - I'll be that your numbers continue to improve.

I got sick 4-5 times on the way home (it's a 2 hour drive) and it was bad since I had to throw up 3 times in the car.....after hubby had stopped to get his lunch in a drive thru. Good thing he has a strong stomach. Ugghh, that was awful.....but then when they told me how many eggs I got I was kind of sick too.

Out of the 14 follies they measured the other day, I only got 7 eggs. She said it was lucky #7....I pray it is. I'm just so used to hearing stories of 13 and 20 that 7 seems awfully low. Especially when they keep telling you that they lose 40% of them after fertilization/growth. I'm guessing I'll go in for a 3 day since I didn't have a ton of eggs, so that puts it on Saturday for me. I have to drive back in tomorrow to get my progesterone....so hubby is taking care of me today so I'll be up for the drive.

Well, that's my update...pray for lots of fertilized ones. I'll be back for personals tomorrow when I feel better and not so blah. Thank you ladies for all the support

Sorry you got so sick. I had to laugh though about you dh's drive through lunch. As far as getting less eggs than you expected - I know it can be disappointing but it sounds like you have plenty to work with to get you your bfp! Lucky 7!!!
