I am not an experienced IVF'er but I was directed to do the Lupron in my tummy and the follistim/repronex in my tushy.

Hello ladies, the cream my dr. gave me is fougera Lidocaine cream. My friend who had gone through this before told me to use it for every shot. It is supposed to be used for the pregestrone shot. But I am taking her advice and using it all the time. I got to thinking people use oragel for many different things. I wonder if you could use that as a numbing device?

Also, does anyone know how long after your start stimming is the ER? I am just curious. I am in college and I have finals in 2 weeks. I am lucky I have 2 professors who will work with me and one who actually asked if I could move the date. Can you believe it... I wait 9yrs for this and I told her this a couple weeks ago and she has the oddasitiy to ask me to hold off my life time dream, some people I tell ya!
Talk to you all tomorrow have a good day and sending lots of and to everyone!! I think we all need it.

Stephanie....

I just wish i had found this earlier. I have been on lupron for about 2 weeks. I never knew how much was involved in all of this. My husband tries but I just don't think he truly understands what i will have to go through. Nice to have a support group who understands.

thanks again for the welcome

Okay I am having a weird day.
I started my Lupron shots for my second IVF tonight. My first IVF I was over thinking everything and this time, its almost like its no big deal. I feel like I am experiencing an out of body experience.

Has anyone else had a similar feeling?

I'm right there with you. I started Lupron on Monday, and it's my second cycle (a FET). I didn't even think twice about the shots. No hesitation at all. After I was done with the first shot, I was wondering if I'd really done it that easily. It was a little weird. I definitely was not so relaxed the first time around.

One thing is for sure, this whole process has gotten me over my life-long severe fear of needles!

I start lupron today! I start lupron today! Sorry, I just envisioned myself in a conga line singing that lol. I also start the dexamethsone. I think I'm going to do both at night. I have a friend coming over today with her kids to play with my son so I can't really do anything while she is here.

So, far we have only told a few family members that we are doing IVF. I have a little day dream of just showing up one day to a girlfriend lunch and having maternity clothes on saying "surprise I'm pregnant."

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Good morning ladies!!! It's Wednesday & we are so much closer to Friday! I'm dragging butt this morning! Ok so I have a cute story for you guys--
Last night we had a surprise dinner party for my brother who is turning 30. All 3 of my nieces were fighting over who got to sit by me (cute, right? ) so they took turns...LOL...Well my 15 year old niece saw me take my Metformin after dinner. She was asking me what it was, etc. She knew we had a m/c last year, but didn't know of the IF-- too much for her to know. I was trying to explain to her what the medicine was & what it was for. I was telling her I had PCOS and telling her about the "stringlike pearls" (cysts) on my ovaries. She got really quiet and then said, "Aunt Karla so you are telling me you have a STD???".... OMG!! I almost fell out of my chair. =) It was the cutest & funniest thing...It definitely gave me a good laugh-- I love the minds of these young ones these days.....anyhow- I had to share!!

Just wanted to say to all the newbies-- glad this place is getting so busy-- even more we will get to see!!
I go for my first AP visit today. It is a consult so I don't know if they actually do a session or not....I'm going to call this morning & find out-- I just want to be prepared!! I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Stephanie-- YAY to your doctor's appointment yesterday-- its exciting to finally be moving ahead, isn't it?

Kelly-- That is great you'll be starting Follistim Thursday!!! Get prepared for lots & lots of good follies!!!

Nicole-- Thanks-- I plan on sticking around the May thread even if my ET runs into June!! Where are you at in your cycle?...Have you started Lupron or are you still waiting on ?

Where is Lauren5290....?? I haven't seen her post in a while...?? Lauren-- where are you at girl?

Angie-- Made any plans yet for your Myrtle Beach trip? My DH just told me they opened a Hard Rock theme park that is supposed to be pretty cool...I don't know how much you would want to/ should ride the rides after the ET (although I'm sure its fine) but it may be cool to walk around and such....=)

OK ladies...I'm off to work!!!

Karla your story is too funny!

Elizabeth- hope he shows for you on time! I'm waiting for my UPS guy today to deliver me some work samples, and then again tomorrow for my Lupron! I swear they are always here late when I'm waiting for something! Good luck with your first dose! I can't wait either! (We'll probably be regretting that in a few days!!!!)

I believe they tell you to do it that way so you dont get too sore. I have always did Lupron in the thigh and stims in the stomach(there is more fat to pinch so it really is not that bad)
