Good luck!

Are you doing your stims IM or SQ? Mine are SQ but this month I decided to switch from thigh to belly, and I've determined that for me belly hurts more, and bruises more easily.

Have fun shooting up! (I love to say that, it sounds so bad!).

Yeah for stimming! grow eggies grow!

I find that if I lay on the edge of the bed, and stretch my stomach taunt, that they hurt less- almost couldn't feel them! (I think DH was getting good too!)

So am I crazy? I had the option on what type of Progesterone I could do- PIO shots or the Cirone Gel. I think I'm going to do the PIO shots- I just feel like it's "safer". And thought it'd be less messy than the gel. Though I'm not real excited about IM shots for weeks- shots in general don't bother me. And the PIO will be about $100 cheaper than the gel. I could have also done endometrim suppositories- but they were almost twice the cost of the PIO. When I asked my nurse what they thought, she told me she had worked at an office a few years ago that only did PIO- and she saw much less spotting. I can still change my mind.
So if you had the choice what would you do?

Edited my spelling! Bad bad bad!

Wow it's hard to keep up with the posts!! I'll do better once I get to know everyone!

Tracy - I'm new too!!

Karla I might run into June with ET too but am not sure as this is my first time doing IVF.

Thanks for the tip about the numbing cream - I'm going to ask about it. I'm such a shot wimp and the thought of dh giving me a needle - ughh!! but I def won't give it to myself. My uncle was a dr (he passed away) and one time he thought it would be funny to have dh give me my flu shot. All I had to see was dh lining it up like it was a dart (I had shades of our college days) and I backed out and had my aunt (a nurse) do it. Too bad I don't live close enough to have her do my shots this time .

I dont find the PIO to be that bad. I could never self inject so the only problem I have is finding someone to do it when DH is out of town (which is not that often). Luckily my neighbor is a Physicians Assitant and she does them when DH cant.

I'm with your the PIO shots are much better than the supporsitories. It will all be worth it in the end.

Question - how long are you usually on BCP for an IVF cycle? My Dr said 10 days but from some of the posts it seems like some of you are on it longer.

Are PIO shots progesterone? Why are they better then suppositories? I have done progesterone supp and they are gross so I guess that is what you meant? this is all new to me.

BTW Forgot to mention that the reason I am considering pre-implantation genetics is b/c of my precious son William who died soon after birth due to a terminal kidney condition. When they did an amnio while I was preg they found a small chromosomal abnormality (a broken piece) which they said may or may not have had anything to do with his condition (apparently some babies have this and are completely normal). So I am going back and forth as to whether to do the testing. The dh and I would have to pay for it ourselves (about 5 grand) but if it can reduce our chances or having a baby with a terminal condition maybe it is worth it... Not sure since they say the chances of it happening again are small..
