Hi Audra,

First of all, I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you.

I think most doctors have you on BCP's 10 days or up to 3 weeks - not sure why it varies. PIO is progesterone in oil and in injection form. I think from what everyone's been saying it provides the same benefits as a suppository.

I can understand your dilemma trying to figure out whether you should do the additional testing. I'm not sure what the right answer is, but if I could have more peace of mind, I think I'd pay the $5,000.

Best of luck to you for a soon!

I was on BCP's for an entire month,, had AF. Started a new pack, and am taking 22 pills of the pack, starting Lupron on day 19. Re put me on pills after my last IUI cx cycle- just because they said it would keep me regular and make preparing for IVF easier. I think there are a bunch of different protocols though, so don't worry- sure all is fine!

PIO is Progesterone in oil, it's an Intra Muscular injection. I don't knoe that they are necessarily better than suppositories. Not really sure! It'[s a catch 22- PIO shots aren't the most comfortable- so I'm told but suppositories are so gross! Ugh! Not sure what I'm going to do- probably PIO- for no other reason than it's cheaper!!!!

I'm so sorry you lost your son and had to go through that ordeal. I can see where you would consider the PGD. Is it a genetic condition, or was it a very unfortunate chromsomal fluke? What a tough decison. I'll keep you in my prayers. It would be so much easier if we could all take the fiancial aspects out of it and just do what is medically possible and correct, wouldn't it?!

Are PIO shots progesterone? Why are they better then suppositories? I have done progesterone supp and they are gross so I guess that is what you meant? this is all new to me.

My doctor's office always does three weeks. So, you're on a full cycle of them, get AF, then start the stims, or whatever you need for a FET.

The PIO is progesterone. It's really thick, so it takes a long time to inject. Some people have bad reactions to it. My BFF was alergic to the oil and had to switch to something else.

I would much rather do the shots than other forms, if given the choice. I rarely felt the shot itself, and couldn't see it since DH was behind me. I would sit on a heating pad for a half hour afterward. Overall it seemed like a lot less hassle and mess than other forms. And, it was nice to have DH get involved, not only so I wasn't doing everything on my own, but also so he felt like he was participating in the process.

The PIO shots I found just to be easier than the suppositories. My DH got so good last round I barely felt them.

Okay ladies... I am FREAKING OUT. I still have no meds and my insurance pharmacy is giving me and my DH the run around. I was suppose to get the meds today and now they say they are "working" on getting me the meds. UGH!!! I have left several nice messages and several mean messages and NO CALL BACK. I keep getting told they are "verifying" my insurance. I am about to loose it. Any suggestions?? I start Lupron on Sunday and tomorrow is Thursday so my time is ticking and my "speciality pharmacy" does not seem to have a sense of urgency to save itself. I have never had this problem. I typically go through IPVCare.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm just going to do teh PIO's- and go buy a heating pad!

I'm so sorry that your pharmacy and insurance is so screwy! How frustrating! I needed meds one time though and they sent them next day- even if they don't go out til Friday you could have Saturday dleievery. Hang in there! (I would have called and gotten nasty on teh phone by now too!)

Ladies of May, how is everyone holding up? Me I'm getting anxious. You know the butterflies in the stomach right before a basketball game, track meet, or other important function? I'm taking a lot of deep breaths. Anyone else?

Have you talked to your RE sometimes if the nurse calls it will push things through. Also they may have a couple doses at the office to help with the first couple days.

YES! Thanks for asking. Apparently they were sent for an afternoon delivering not morning like I had been told. I called after they were 45 minutes....I couldn't take the stress anymore lol. Now, I have everything lined up all nice and organized. I'm sort of a neat freak.

This happened to me yesterday. So I called my doctors office and had them call Caremark. Caremark just needed them to verify the prescription. Demand to talk to a manager too at the pharmacy.

Hello ladies of May!

Sarah - that stinks about your pharmacy...I was nervous about mine as well, since they never seemed to give me the same answer about how much I would be paying. Also, even though they asked me at the end of every call if I wanted them to call me back on my cell or home phone (I always said cell), they always called me back at home. Anyway - the good news is that I got my meds today! Hang in there, be persistent, and I'm sure they'll come through!

So, when FedEx came today, I was shocked at what a big box they were delivering! Holy cow! My DH is going to be surprised when he gets home, I'm sure. Only one more week until I'm ready to go with the Lupron. I have my mock transfer and meds training next Wednesday! Finally!!

Funny story about my first delivery.

I was so worried about the delivery, I had my neighbor watching my house to make sure they didn't freeze. She kept them in her garage until my DH got home. He cleaned out the frig in the garage, took all the shelves out and put the entire box in the fridge. I came home open the fridge door and saw nothing but card board.

You gotta love em!

Thanks for the responses on the progesterone also-I think I'll just go with the PIO, and if it gets to be too much, I'm sure I could switch! DH has had a pretty steady hand so far!
