Hey Girls! Happy Friday!!!!

Cari- your lining sounds great! So happy your appt. went well! Next Thursday will be here before you know it!

Indie-Sorry no AF yet! Ugh0 you gotta hate her. I've seen others do an AF dance and she shows- so it is for you and I threw one in for Karla also!

Thanks everyone for sharing their "other" lives. FUn to know what we should all be doing instead of pounding on the keyboard searching the forum!

And my favorite ice cream is- well depends on where it's from! In the IL area where I grew up we have a co. called Whitey's- and I love their Mint Choc. Chip cones or cookie dough malts. In NC at my dads there is a co. called Kilwin's- and everyhing there is good especially the cake batter! Yum yum! WHo am I fooling? I love all ice cream!

ANd finally I my first Lupron shot was this am! Piece of cake!!! After how many days you girls notcie any side effects? I'm hoping on a couple since my Mom, and DH's parents are all coming in today for the weekend- which means I need to go clean our house- looks like a bomb went off! Ah!

Happy Friday again!

Happy happy Friday

for you ladies who are waiting for . I broke my own record this month so I can sympathise. I had a 38 or 39 day cycle where before that my longest ever was 31 or 32 days! I was very frustrated b/c it did feel for 10 days or more as though it would be here any second. I took 3 preg tests hoping against hope but all were bfn and then I got it but very, very late. I think the meds they have me take messed me up cycle wise.

Jennifer (Giggles) hope your retrieval goes well. for you!!

Stephanie Hope th hsg went well...

Josephine (Tracy) and in our dreams - thanks for answering my questions.

Happy Friday Ladies!!

We really have some great positive vibes on this board and I LOVE it!! :-)

Cari- Great ## for your lining

Karla & indieBlue- I am sure will show up very soon!

Linz- YEA Lupron!! :-)

Jennifer (Giggles) Good luck on your ER! I will be keep you in my thoughts this weekend!

Pray2bmom- I FINALLY got my meds from Caremark yesterday. They will be there!! We didn't have to sign for them but DH went ahead and worked from home to wait for them!
They only sent me one bottle of Lupron though for 14 days and I will be on it a lot longer than that so I am going to call and order my refill today.

Speaking of Lupron-- I get to start the fun injections on Sunday!! YEA!! Never thought I would look forward to getting a shot! Dh and I decided on our times that we will give the shots once I start stimming. We are going for the 7 am and 7 pm that way it is easy to remember!

I go to AP and she did try to get me to do the herbs but I told her no. I don't know if they work but they are extra $$ that I didn't want to spend. she told me that once I start stimming I need to go to AP twice a week.

Josephine (Tracy)- Thanks for keeping us all updated and for the subject change! :-) Fave ice cream- Cookies and Cream. And I work as a Recruiter!

To all the other Ladies-- have a great weekend and Happy Friday!

One more question before I log off-- question about drinking-- has everyone stopped? I love a glass of wine on Fridays but DH wants me to stop completely. I don't mind but I wasn't sure what every one else does.

Sorry for the long post!!

I think as soon I am not on BCP and might be producing eggs I will stop. But I am very cautious and I'm sure others might have different answers. I think it prob doesn't matter until the fertilized egg is implanted (ie when your blood stream is connected to baby's) but I could be wrong.

Related question - Is anyone still drinking coffee? I was thinking about possibly going to all decaf (very painful for me but I did it when pregnant) b/c I heard it can affect fertility negatively for women (and it can help s[perm to swim faster for men - don't men have all the luck??). Asked the Dr and she said not to worry about it but I'm curious if anyone else has heard this.

I haven't had anything to "drink" in a while- but I'm not a big drinker and it doesn't bother me. I was doing IUI's up until last month- so that's why I haven't. I woudl say your glass on Friday nights isn't probably a big deal- I'd stop as you get closer to ER.

And I quit the caffine a while ago too! It was hard- especially since it was still cold out and I loved hot coffee in the am. Try switching to half caff for a week or so, and then to decaf, and then maybe you'll just wean yourself off. Then again, I'm sure one cup a morning isn't all that bad-Good luck.

Good Friday morning girls!

This looks like it's going to be a busy weekend here with Jennifer going to ER, tons starting Lupron, ultrasounds...things are really rolling!

Angie - Thanks for the well-wishes! Hopefully these Repronex IM shots won't be too bad in the next couple days, should be starting those on Sunday... We'll see!

Pris - I'm sorry you had such a hard time with your first stim shot. You can take comfort in that when this process is over you'll be AND over your fear of shots (hopefully!). Keep your chin up!

Elizabeth - Have fun eating at that great Mexican place - what did you have? Maybe you can squeeze in some Cold Stone Creamery afterwards! And good luck at the AP...boy, you have a busy morning today!

Josephine - That was a cute story about the banana split...it may be an omen of what you'll crave in your pregnancy. Maybe you could start stashing some now! You were asking about Lupron side effects and honestly, I haven't noticed any for me (I'm on the 20 unit dose once a day). Maybe I'm just lucky! I hope your *effects* get better! LOL!

Audra - The "trial" or "mock" transfer is where they do a pretend embryo transfer on you so that when the real moment comes they don't have any surprises regarding the shape of your cervix and uterus. Mine was somewhat uncomfortable, however, every step of this process has been uncomfortable for me so far...HSG, IUI's...etc. Most people have no problem whatsoever and it really was very short ~3 minutes. You'll do great!

Jennifer (Giggles) - OK...dying here to know when your ER date is going to be! Hooray!

Stephaniellll - Thinking of you this morning! Let us know how that nasty old HSG went!

Karla - I def think is messing with you! You need to tell her what's what. Of course, since when did that help anything? Ha! My cycles were always long, though I didn't keep close track of them before ttc. Well, once I went off the OCP's, the cycles were 40-45 days apart! Every doctor wanted to start meds on CD1 or run some test on whatever day and it was the most endless, stupidest (is that even a word?), waiting game I've ever played. Point is, you'll get there...eventually! BTW, the Follistim shot last night was no big deal, though I had underestimated how hard I would have to push that Follistim pen injection button! We survived and can't wait to do it again tonight! ER for me...probably around May 4 or 5...maybe your birthday!

Cari - Congrats on your lining...sounds great! Enjoy that PIO tomorrow - anything to get your body ready to get those precious embies! Less than a week away! Hopefully your bleeding has subsided and won't cause you further problems.

IndieBlue - I sure hope shows up soon for you...the waiting is sure a killer!

Linz - You know, your post about the local ice cream companies made me SO MISS my favorite ice cream company from Maine...Giffords! Now that I have moved away, I miss it every summer and they have nothing like it here. Nothing like craving something you can't even get! It's bad news, man. Good luck with the Lupron today! You'll do great! What dose are you doing? Have fun with the fam!

Sarah - Good luck with your Lupron on Sunday...it's so easy! Fear not!

OK girls, this is quite long enough! Hope you have an excellent morning! Good thoughts to each and every one of you!

Hi Audra and Linz,
Like you, I LOVE(d) my coffee and actually went off it last year when doing all my IUI's. I've been drinking decaf since then but I'll have a cup once in a while still, just not during any 2ww. There was a recent study that found that caffiene in pregnancy increased miscarriage rate, something my RE also told me at my first IVF appt. Linz, you did the same thing I did, half-caf for a week or two, it was much better than quitting cold turkey!

Hi there Audra,

My RE said 1-3 drinks a week is fine - I've been cutting back to nothing (unless AF arrives!), but tonite may have 1 glass of wine with the girls. I've been getting supersticious about everything, but I think as they always say "in moderation".

On the caffeine note, I found a great 'half-caf' that green mountain makes. I think you can get it in ground coffee form, but we have a keurig, and they make nice little containers of it. It's a great way to have a little less caffeine, but feel like you're getting the real deal.

Best wishes to you and everyone else on this thread to hopefully see a soon!

I'm on 10iu of Lupron- and I'll be taking it all the way up to ER-at the bottom of my paperwork it says "Lupron Down Protocol" What are you taking?

Yeah- I didn't think half caff was so bad- it was gradual. If I need something hot in the am now- I would drink warm milk with sometimes just a hint of choc. syrup in it. Wasn't bad- hit the spot- I don't even need that anymore. From what I've read there really isn't that much caff. in chocolate- and choc. syrup. There was this ebtie article in a magazine I read about caffine and leverls in foods and drinks. I should try to google it and post it- see what I can do!

My RE said that I should start cutting down on Caffeine asap. So I stopped cold turkey which has me cranky because I work nights and need my coffee when I go in. As far as drinking in moderation not too bad now that I've started stimming I've cut it out completely. I think medications are messing with my head, last night I was dreaming with cigarettes. I was smoking away, what a great dream I didn't want to wake up. Haven't had a cigarette in 3 months but boy do I miss it. What we do for IF, but I know it will be worth it at the end.

I have been on decaf for 2 months now. I went back after my for a little while and then cut it out again when we decided to try again in May.

This has been one busy Friday. I won't be able to check the thread again until Suday, due to a crazy schedule this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone.

Had my baseline sono and lab today. Everything looked good to go for stimming on Sunday. I am waiting for a call from the RE to confirm that. Can't wait. I'm been doing alot of deep breathing and sighing. I can't believe the start of the cycle is already here. Hope everyone else is doing good with all their protocols. This is it Ladies.

GO GO GO

I haven't had caffeine in over 2 years....well I should say Soda's I do have an occasional cup of sweet tea at a restaurant. I need to cut out chocolate too though....another caffeine killer.

Well ladies -

I finally got my package from Caremark. Guess what.... Things are missing - no Follistim, no HCG, and no PIO. I am tried of calling them on the phone. Hopefully, it will be resolved by the time I need it.

About caffeine - I love Dr. Pepper - but have stayed away for a couple of months now. Have had one here and there but now I will stay away from it for hopefully 9 months.

Just like Tracy, I will be away from the boards until next Wednesday. My mom and I are going on a little trip before IVF. We are leaving early in the morning....got to go pack.

Good luck to everyone that is stimming over the weekend. Will catch up when I get back.
