Roxy!

Kaym82- I start bcp w/ af in april, but the catch is am always pretty irregular, she'll probably come in about a week, but I am going to be on bcp longer than usual (they are using hte bcp to control the timing of my cycle, as I have to er they day of my dh's surgery), then I have lupron before i get to stims, so once you get going you will move much quicker than me. My er will be the very end of may or early june. I am so anxious to get started even if just w/ bcp. How are you feeling??

Anyone know what a Sounding is? I am going out to Ny in a few weeks to have this an h20 sonogram (I do this instead of the hsg), not sure what to expect.

, Lauren

I believe you are talking about a Saline ultrasound. I just had my 2nd one on March 14th. It is pretty simple. The insert the speculum (at some point the ultrasound probe makes its way in there too)and then insert a catheter into your cervix up into your uterus. Inject saline into your uterus and watch your uterus fill up on the ultrasound machine. Then the ultrasound probe and catheter come out (so does the saline, ewwwww...LOL) and you are done.
It has never been painful for me. But some women experience mild cramping.

Lauren- I'm feeling pretty good about everything. I want to say I will be on bcp's for two weeks, and I'll start lupron for 1-2 weeks & I'll start my stims w/ lupron and then eventually be on stims. I go this Thursday for the mock trial transfer & I believe I am also having the saline sono.. I just got my day 3 labs back from yesterday & thankfully everything looks good. I, like you, tend to be very irregular w/ my cycle (PCOS) so we'll see where I end up.
I wasn't expecting to go to IVF just yet, but on my 2nd IUI I had 10 mature follies-- at that point my RE said no more IUI's!! I'm excited though!!
Is this your first IVF too?....

I just wanted to drop a line since I just got my calendar from my RE and my second IVF cycle will be in May and I will be joining all of you. It looks like my ER will be 5/13 and ET on about 5/18. I hope you don't mind me joining so late in the thread.

Karla- Yes, its my first ivf. We went straight to ivf due to severe male factor. Although I am irregular they haven't found anything IF wise for me (yet) . Do you think everyone has a mock transfer? I don't think they ever mentioned I would be having one. glad to hear all your labs came back good, and I hope everything goes well for you on thursday (let us know).

Kensbaby- Thanks for info . I am still not really sure what all they are going to do, I guess I will find out soon.

Hi girls~

Can I join the Ladies of May?!?!

It's our 1st IVF here's our plan:
4/8 expecting AF
4/21 post-lap appt and injection training (that sounds so harsh!)
4/29 estimated start of Lupron
mid-late May ER and ET

I cannot believe that we are FINALLY moving forward! It's only been 3 months since our 1st RE appt - but it seems like an eternity with all of the doctor appts, tests, and more tests!

I'm glad we're here, and I look forward to getting to know and supporting each other through the next few months!
HERE'S TO A SUCCESSFUL BABY-MAKING CYCLE TO ALL OF US!!!!

Nicole- Hey! Will you start your bcp's when you get af or will you wait until the next cycle?....I'm going to start my bcp's with my next cycle-- so probably towards the later part of April! It's not getting here fast enough....

Lauren- I'm not sure if everyone has a mock transfer...maybe its something you could ask your RE about. I'll definitely update on Thursday- my lucky husband only has to get some blood work done!...LOL

Angie-- We might be on similar cycles....We might be cycle buddies!! Glad you are here!

Josephine- thanks for keeping up with everyone...!

Hope everyone's Monday is going good.....
I'm we will all be seeing !!!

I'm using a different RE for this IVF cycle than for the first one. The first doctor treated his patients like cattle and pretty much did not testing at all. The new doctor does extensive testing and mock transfers. I'm not sure why they do mock transfers except perhaps to meet patients face-to-cervix before they do the ER and ET.
