Hi all.
I've just got back from my first u/s. One perfect little dot in the perfect place. It all suddenly seems so real. Still no symptoms at all. I can't wait to start feeling something. Oh I so hope it all continues to go as well as it is now. Of course it is nervewracking until this next month or two is over...

I am going away on Thursday to the country side. Organic vegetables, yoga sessions and all that, but not much internet, so I guess I won't be checking in so much. SO:

Ladies - you have been amazing! I can't tell you how important this forum has been in getting me though this. Though the IVF, the stuff with DH, everything. I wish you all so much luck and love in your life and all the babies you can handle! Sending you all hugs from my heart, Ziggy

I’ve been away for a bit…still lurking, but not posting too much. I guess I was experiencing “posting fatigue” (Dude’s phrase) and I didn’t have much to contribute. I did want to get on here though to catch up with everyone

Marching through IVF – LOVE IT! We were having a pretty bad week the last week of the March IVF board so I’m glad we’ve changed the name of the board and I’m hoping that it brings us all much luck.

I thought March was a busy month, but it looks like things are really picking up for everyone again….New beginnings on a new board.

JenCat – New job. Good luck with the interviews. I think you have chosen your interview attire very well!

Kate and Dude – Glad to hear that things are moving forward for you guys and that you are having such a positive experience with your donor and new clinic. I know it’s kind of frustrating to be in a “holding cycle” for a few months (doesn’t it feel like you’re wasting time!), but your time will be here soon.

Tanya – Congrats on the twins. Such great news. You deserve a happy healthy 9 months (or maybe 8 months with twins).

Jamie – Glad to see you’re posting again. I think of you everyday and I so wish that things had turned out differently for both of us, but maybe we’ll get to cycle again together and we’ll have much better luck next time. I hope you start getting some sleep honey…I know easier said than done. I think new hope (a new cycle plan) will bring some sort of release from all you are feeling. And I REALLY hope that you can start enjoying Margaritas again!!!! I think one of the worst parts of a failed IVF is that on top of being depressed about how things turned out, you just don’t feel like you! I hope Friday brings you some good news.

Ziggy – Great u/s result. Congrats! Enjoy your time in the countryside.

Heather – Oh I was so sorry to hear about your BFN. I really thought for sure you’d get a positive. Vent all you want…this is the place to do it. I’m right there with you on having to give fake responses. When people ask when my husband and I are going to start trying or when we’re going to have a baby I have to bite my tongue not to say “We’ve been married for over 2 years, it’s safe to think that we’re probably already trying and not getting anywhere” or “I just miscarried last month, thanks for asking” or “I guess not this month”. Instead I try to just smile and say “hopefully soon”.

Barbara – sorry about the negative on the stick. I’m hoping your beta shows differently. Don’t give up…it’s not over ‘til it’s over. I’m praying for you.

Cathy – Praying for lots of follies for you tomorrow. Anxious to see your post.

Sue – Glad to see you’re moving forward and preparing for the next cycle. Sorry you aren’t able to drink at the wedding this weekend, but hopefully it will be WELL worth it!

Liza – Sorry your cycle was converted again I know that’s frustrating, but you’re right…lots of people get BFPs with IUI. A lot of people also have to try quite a few IUIs to get a BFP so I think your chances are improving. GREAT news about the insurance!

Janice – I can’t believe you’re getting so close to ER…next week!!!!

Jana, Kristie, Kristen…how are things for all of you??!!?? To anyone I’ve missed I’m sorry.

My update: Met with a new RE. He wants to do a FET on 6/17. I was a little upset at having to wait so long, but I’ve decided to look on the bright side and think that this gives me 2 months to start feeling like myself again. I’ve begun exercising and eating right (I’m doing the Seattle Sutton diet…awesome…fresh, good tasting meals. Lost 8 pounds before my wedding on the plan and it’s my go to when I’m feeling a little pudgy. I’d highly recommend it. It’s 1200 calories a day and if you just eat what they give you, you definitely loose weight quickly). I’m also not totally psyched about doing a frozen transfer, but he says it will be much easier on my body (I’m all for that) and that this way we don’t use up one of my IVF chances (I have 4 fresh cycles covered by my health insurance…thank God for state mandated infertility coverage). The downside it that I only have 2 blasts so I have to hope like crazy that they survive the thaw.

Guess that’s all for now…off to the MD for a pap smear (prep for the FET…I have to have one within 1 year for my new RE). Gotta say though that visits to the gynecologist become easy after all we go through with IVF. They no longer evoke the sense of fear and dread they once did now I’m like “poke and prod away”!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Barbara- I am sorry the stick was evil. There is always a chance it is wrong though so don't give up hope!!

Jamie- You really deserve a break. Not sleeping, feeling nauseous, the stuff at Motherhood. UGH! Can you book yourself a nice massage to have some pampering? You really need it. Happy Birthday too! I know the feeling you describe. I hit 40 a week from today and if I assess where I am right now, it isn't where I thought I would be. It isn't all bad though. I am very luck to have found Dude and have him by my side.

Cathy- good luck tomorrow! I can't wait to hear how you are doing - that DHEA really helped, huh?

Sue- Drinking at weddings is required! I actually hate weddings - I am so not good at small talk and lots of people.

Ziggy- Congrats on seeing the little bean!!! Enjoy your time away.

Amy- It sounds like there are a lot of benefits to the frozen transfer... although I totally understand not wanting to wait and being worried about the thaw. Oh and you are so right about the GYN not evoking those same feelings. I have spread my legs more often in the last few months than I did in college. (Just kidding, Dude! Don't have a heart attack!!!)

We have an understanding. I understand and accept that I'm not her first. She understands that hinting at or disclosing any of the details of any prior experience is a bad idea, as it would threaten my intentional and self-serving delusion that I'm no worse than second. Call it chauvinism or whatever, but it's one of those things I find easiest to accept by knowing as little as possible. (I'd add a blindfolded emoticon if there was one on the list.)

Fully agreed! DH and I have a good idea about each other but have never gone into complete and full disclosure, and probably never will. Doesn't matter because what we have now works so well.

good morning everyone, i hope that you are enjoying this lovely hump day. Mine didn't start exactly the way i was hoping, i took a pregnancy test hoping it would be negative, well it was positive. i couldn't believe that i was disappointed to see a positive pregnancy test...WTF??? after going thru so many negatives, i always thought i would be over the moon with glee when i finally got to see that second line, it is very weird. and the odd thing is, that this was my first stick test with this pregnancy... maybe the morale is that i should have given in prior to the beta... Hmmmm?

anyway, good luck cathy and liza i am praying that you receive your miracle.

blessings to all and enjoy the hump... anyone else having the humpty dance going thru their head?

I just caught up but have a second - need to eat something and get out the door to teach a class...BUT, have to share this. My mother in law is coming over today from Michigan to stay over then we will all drive to Vermont tomorrow....well, I spoke to her yesterday (have been avoiding her since my ectopic in Dec/Jan because of her reaction to our pregnancy and loss even though usually she is a decent person and we get along). Anyway, we talked yesterday on the phone and were discussing how life never is predictable. I said after all DH and I have been through (lots of struggles including a year in Iraq and injury resulting, with surgeries after that and medical separation from the military for DH, moving cross-country AGAIN, etc), I thought that it wouldn't be very hard for us to get pregnant once we started trying and she said "well, you know, not getting pregnant is definitely not the worst thing that can happen to someone". Well, jeez, I wasn't even complaining...I was just saying we were surprised its been such a struggle (thought we had paid our dues). So all I could say was, "you are right, it isn't the end of the world for someone who doesn't want it so badly, maybe its different for me...but you are right, it could be worse". SOOOOOO not looking forward to her coming today!!!! Aaaargh.

Hope the rest of you are having a good day!!! I may be MIA for a few days or until Monday, though I will try to check again later today!!!

Sue, I completely understand how you feel. I'm so sorry that it feels like your MIL isn't sympathetic to your situation. We all know there are worse things, but for those of us who struggle to be moms, this is pretty bad. I've really stopped talking to my mom or sister about all this IVF stuff, because they never seem to have any sympathy for what I have to go through. I think they try to be supportive in their own way, but it always comes out wrong. My sister is always saying well, if it doesn't work you can always adopt......like it's that easy!! I'm learning that when they speak, they aren't trying to hurt me but help me (even though it doesn't). Good luck on the drive to Vermont. Dispite your MIL, I'm sure it will be a nice trip.

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been quiet, but I've been reading along with everyone! I'll be quiet again though...heading out to LAS VEGAS tonight and I'm not taking my laptop!! Woohoo!! I figure, DH and I are on the computers too much as it is at home, so we're looking forward to some "us" time (along with the gambling and the shows and dinners and friends who are also joining us). So I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and I will catch up with everyone on Sunday!!

Good Morning ALL,
I did the evil hpt this morning of beta sure enough its a NEG. But the RE's office of course said she's had woman bring in several neg. and bw says otherwise.
Thats great news, I hope so.
but if not I asked why havent AF come yet, the ugly woman was due monday and now how long do I have to wait. She said, it takes a couple of days after you stop the estradiol so I stopped it already ( I am not supposed to take it the am of bw anyway, so I doubt 8hrs is going to hurt). I will wait and see what happens tonight.
Everyone have a great day. Lots of prayers to all.
