Carrie - Your RE sounds like a real downer. I understand that you've done three cycles, but there are lots of ways they can address poor initial response. First, this cycle ISN'T OVER. But if you end up needing to go to a new RE, I'm sure they'll have more thoughts on what to do. I agree with Kate - your guy's the long-lost twin of dr. doomingloom.

Heather - Congratulations! And to both you and Barbara - just enjoy not having symptoms. Shelley who just had her triplets on Saturday had no symptoms at all, so it's only a sign about how your body's responding right now - not any bad sign. Heather - Good luck on your beta when you get it.

LeAnne - I agree that your RE should transfer the number of embies that you want to transfer. But just a cautionary tale - at my clinic, they had 3 women last year who transfered 2 embryos and ended up with triplets. I didn't worry about this because of my age and then our overall embryo quality (not good) with the donor. But you're young, so I see where the REs might worry.

Hello to everyone else! B

Jana - you are one of those who has inspired me all along. I couldn't believe your strength to turn around and cycle again so quickly. After my BFN (seems like we got them around the same time) I was hurting too much to hope and was so empty to stand at a crossroads where I had never planned to be. I know there are no words that can take your pain away through your sudden loss. I agree with Kate; hope can pull you through but take your time. Maybe Kate can even recommend a weekend cruise for you and DH. Will you be starting school again soon?

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. While this is so hard to go through, I know that God is right beside me holding my hand through all of this. My poor DH is out-of-town until tomorrow evening, and I feel so bad that he is going through all of this while away from home. As much as this hurts, I know that my cup runeth over........I have so much love in my life and at some point we'll be able to share that with a child.

Heather, I would have never thought of myself as inspiring, but thank you. I am so happy for your great news. Enjoy your time being pregnant. Due date yet???

Jana - still thinking about you and hope DH is home soon.

My due date should be April 16. One year to the day of my failed IVF. I am really just grateful for each day. DH's sperm have a high possibility of mutating, so although I'm optimistic, there is a very real possibility of losing this little one. Strangely, I'm very calm. Maybe ignorance is bliss, but no betas, no ultrasounds scheduled, just a regular OB/GYN appointment Sept. 2. We haven't told any family or friends. It is kind of nice to be so private about it... I felt like we were too public during our IVF cycle. I think I would burst without this forum, or at least drive my DH nuts.

Leanne - the number is a hard call. I know FET success rates are lower, and they do usually factor in age. I think I'd be tempted to transfer more than one, but it is a very personal decision. I'm sure you'll decide what is right for you. A friend recently told me about a woman in Arizona who had 10 eggs transferred. Eight of them are growing, so now she is faced with an extremely tough decision. I can't verify whether that story is true, and I can't imagine any clinic transferring 10 eggs, but it came from a reliable source.

Kate - how are the shots going? What did zucarina do while you were gone on your cruise?

Barbara - best wishes with your beta today.

Shout outs to all others: Amy, Amy, Janice, Jen, Tanya, Cathy, Liza, Tami, Sue, Carrie, Sarah, Kristen, and all others.

Thanks for all the prayers. DH will be home tonight, and we will go in tomorrow for the D&C. RE said it was too big to pass on my own. She also said that we would probably not be able to start another cycle this year!!!! Are you kidding me? Just one more thing to get past. We will go in next week to discuss further testing. I think I may need to have a car wash to pay for all of this. LOL! I have to keep my humor or I have nothing.

I hope you all are feeling well and getting through the injections, the wait, the anticipation, etc.
