IVF in October, anyone?

Hey ladies! My hubby and I are doing IVF in October. This is after 2 failed IUIs and 12 months of TTC. My hubby has a low count, but we're otherwise fine. I'm nervous but SUPER excited! I'd love to talk with others who will be going through this at roughly the same time.

Ours is scheduled for September but I think (and hope) the actual transfer will be first day of October. So I'm in between months. Good Luck to you and lots of & for all of us!

Yay for cycle buddies!

Hey guys! I'm excited about having cycle buddies! I haven't gone through IVF before so I may have lots of questions. I've done way too much research because I'm a PA and it's how I cope. Knowledge is power. Anyone care to share tips? I want to do everything I can to help this pregnancy take. Hope you girls are doing well!

jen - my advice for newbies is try not to get overwhelmed, althought that can be really difficult. you are going to get a huge box of meds and want to pass out but take a deep breath and work your way through them, each has a specific job and it makes you feel a little bit better. also make sure that you have a calendar or something to keep you organzied. also ask questions, ask as many questions as you have. this can be scary but it is going to be worth it all when we get to hold our little one in our arms. if you have any specific questions please do not hesitate this is number 3 for me and i feel like i am turning into an expert, although i really don't want to be many blessings

I can try...

I'm going to try my best to not get overwhelmed with the whole process. It seems like a lot of drugs and a lot of money, but totally worth it. I'm really just excited! It's hard not to put your hopes into this because everything else has failed. Ya know? We've been exercising, eating right, taking our vitamins, and praying a lot. How is everyone else?

Jenny Lynn- You and sound similar- 2 failed IUI's, TTC for 2 years, and my hubby has low count and motility.. It is nice to know that someone can relate-
We are going to the in vitro seminar next week and then we will decide when we are actually going to start- probably in October though.

I am also getting to the point where I have read so much that it is info overload, but I still feel lost!

I am most nervous about not knowing- we have never been preg-o....

Take care and I am looking forward to having an October in vitro buddy! http://forums.adoption.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hi all! New to the forum but have been reading for quite awhile now. I was going to start IVF in Sept. but I just started a new job so I'm going to wait until Oct. so hopefully if all goes well will be there at least a year before the baby comes. I'm so glad to be able to experience this with other people bc this has been very emotional experience for me.

Me 28 - tubes removed (bilateral hydro)
DH 28 - Normal
TTC - 2 years

1 Medicated IUI 4/08 failed
Laporoscopy 6/08 removed tubes

Ready for the weekend...

Anyone else ready to be done with this week? I plan to have a great weekend! We have our initial IVF consult next Tuesday. Are there specific questions I should be asking? I have some in mind but don't want to miss anything. Ideas?

wow, our little group is really growing.

as for questions - make sure that you find out about success rates. what protocols they use - bcps, lupron, etc. i would also ask about the drugs and if there are any pharmacies that they work with because you might be able to get a better deal - i have always used schraft's and i like them a lot. i would also ask if they have any plans - i am in a shared risk plan and so thankful because we get 6 attempts for a fixed amount and if it was not for that our attempts at becomign parents would be over. good luck and make sure that you ask every question you have no matter if you think it sounds dumb or not.

We had our IVF consult yesterday. It's OVERWHELMING!!!!!!!!! So many meds, so much money, so much time off of work. I could use some encouragement. I want to do this more than anything. I'm just scared....

Hi October buddies

Hi ladies,

I would like to join the October group also.

I'm expecting to have my third (I can't believe I'm saying third) IVF in October. I unfortanetly had an ectopic my last cycle and have to wait for the methotrexate shot (helps end the pregnancy) to get out of my system before I can cycle again. I'm trying to stay positive and look forward to the next round though.

Historyteach I read it's your third too. I'm hoping threes the charm for both of us !

Awesome an October Group too!!

Hello girls!
I might as well join you guys too! I am in the process of IVF#2 right now with TRIGGER tonight! I don't want to confuse anyone but my ER is 8/1. Yeah!!
I've got some other issues so basically my MD is doing some embryo testing and then he will freeze them ....if all goes well....then I will have FET (frozen ET) in October with all of you! So I need transfer + 2WW buddies....

I'm kind of a basket case since this is our first SELF-PAYED ivf -- nervous but excited!

Can't wait to get to know everyone! I already know HISTORYTEACH of course...I agree with her...I feel like i'm becoming so much more knowledgable this go round!
Hope to be alot of support for everyone! TC have good day! Sorry Long post!

Jenn - take a big breath and relax. at the beginning IVF can be overwhelming but take it from an ol'timer, it isn't that bad once you are doing everything. if there are any questions that you have make sure that you ask them. i will help with anything that i can do. i also know that it is expensive, i wish there was something that i could do about making every state cover things. hang in there sweetie because your time is coming to have your miracle

prickle - i agree the third time is going to be a charm, dang it no matter what i have to do. are you doing anything different from your previous cycles. i have been trying to get in shape but i have been enjoying a lot of comfort food/drink with two miscarriages in three months i am trying to hold onto a shred of sanity.

- i look forward to sharing this experience with everyone and having a beautiful little one(s) to hold in my arms next summer
