My husband and I went to our first ultrasound this morning. The doctor confirmed we are pregnant with twins! The sac's and heartbeat are right on track with my 6weeks and 2 day pregnancy. I have to say, I am excited as hell and very nervous at the same time.

My next ultrasound is in two weeks. As for now, I am to continue resting as there is a very large cyst on my left ovary. The doctor says that it will diminish once the placenta's start to grow bigger.

Thanks again for all the positive vibes everyone sent our way.

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! That infertility changes you as a person beyond the point of no return, robs us of ourselves if we are not careful enough to preserve who we are. What a great gift IVF technology can be for couples striving to become parents.

Thank you for your encouraging words!! I found out today that my first IVF fresh transfer didn't work. I go for second one in August, this time frozen. I am only 30 so I was hoping it would work, since I have no concrete problems. I'm bummed, but I need to stay more positive next round and I will read the secret again! I KNOW it will help=) I am also going to start accupuncture and yoga too.
I am reading that a lot of women have more success 2nd time around??

3rd try worked... with very low follicle counts

Age: 35, husband 38
How long TTC: 2+ years
Diagnosis or any known issues: severe male factor infertility
Treatments you tried before IVF: none

How many IVF did you do before success: 3rd time worked

Are you using donor eggs or sperm: no

Protocol (meds taken):
This time... BCPs, then Lupron microdose, then GonalF and Menopur

How many follicles at ER:
This time I had a grand total of 4. I hope this helps other people who are freaking out like I was... my first ultrasound: 0 follicles above 12mm. Second ultrasound: again 0. Third: 2. Then 4 at last u/s. So... it's possible!!! Keep up hope!!!

How many eggs retrieved: 5.

How many eggs fertilized: 2. I know people say, "you only need one"... and I was stressed that only two eggs fertilized, but it worked!

How many days between ER and ET: 3 days

How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred:

1- 4 cell, good quality
1- 8 cell, good quality

Symptoms or issues during 2WW: zero. nada. not tired, no sore boobs, nothing. On beta day, very mild lower back cramps.

What day you got your BFP: did POAS on 9dp3dt and got a very very very faint line. The next day it was actually lighter than the first.

HPT before blood test: 2

Number of first beta: 66

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process!

I would have wanted to know that it is, in fact, a process. I had two IVF cycles where I didn't respond to the GonalF very well, one was cancelled for no fertilization and the second one had only two lower quality embryos. I tried hard to keep it in perspective and realize that I'm not the chief architect of this plan even though it FEELS like we're in control when we're doing the shots.

PS This time I did do acupuncture throughout the cycle, as well as pineapple after transfer and baby aspirin between transfer and beta.

PPS During the process, I was also ridiculously sick with a cold and an ear infection so during retrieval week I was on lots of tylenol cold, sudafed, etc. My husband said everything went so awfully wrong with this cycle that it was "guaranteed" to be the cycle that worked.

Ellipses IVF success

Hi everyone, not sure if I'm doing this correctly but I wanted to try anyway. This success thread has helped me stay positive through a long and emotional journey that has lead to an even more exciting one and I wanted to give back

Name: Moragn
Age: 28 at conception
How long TTC: 2yrs
Diagnosis or any known issues: Both tubes blocked-had possible hydrosalpinx on the left so I had surgery April 08 to remove both and give us a better chance at IVF success
Treatments you tried before IVF: HSG 2006
How many IVF did you do before success: First time was the charm
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No
Protocol (meds taken): Lupron, Menopur, Gonal F, HCG, Progesterone
How many follicles at ER: Don't know
How many eggs retrieved: 32 (16 went to us and 16 went to our recipient)
How many eggs fertilized: 15
How many days between ER and ET: 5
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 perfect AA blasts
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Swollen/tender breasts, little bit of cramping in the 2nd week-I could smell everything
What day you got your BFP: 12
HPT before blood test: 9dp5dt
Number of first beta: 1252
Number of babies: Don't know yet
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! The injections aren't bad at all (especially the one you fear the most-HCG) Just relax, do your best with everything you do have control over and try to let go and trust with the things you don't

Talking BFP with Twins - after 4 yrs TTC

Name: Nirac
Age: 40 at conception
How long TTC: 4yrs

How many IVF did you do before success: this was the second round, but totally different drug protocol and RE

How many follicles at ER: 13
How many eggs retrieved: 11
How many eggs fertilized: 9
How many days between ER and ET: 5
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3 perfect AA blasts
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Swollen/tender breasts, tiny spotting 3 days after xfer, a little cramping like AF was coming
What day you got your BFP: 6DP5DT = 33, 8DP5DT = 128, 13DP5DT = 2375
HPT before blood test: Didn't POAS
Number of first beta: 33 (6DPT) 128 (8DPT) 2375 (13DPT)

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! Before going down the first IVF road, I would have spent more time getting myself together. I think losing 45 pounds and getting myself put back together over the year off we took was our key to success. I also spent some time repairing relationships and making other things in life a priority rather than just focusing on infertility. I learned to enjoy living life again! We'd decided this was our last round and would be childless, and believe it or not, I was more than okay with either way our IVF cards played out. I think you have to really come to this mindset before your body and mind are ready to conceive. I listened to conception music, hypnotherapy for conception and used essential oils from the time I started stims until the day I got my 3rd positive beta. I stayed off the boards and just focused on my experience and my protocol - this reduced stress for me. I read positive affirmations every day from The Secret. I also told very few people about the process this time, and still haven't told a ton of people about the BFP althought I'm dying for 12 weeks to shout it from the rooftop. I also highly recommend going out of town for the IVF procedure - it makes it like a vacation and relaxing. My RE has been more attentive on email than any RE would be in an office. Message me if you are interested in the name of my RE. We also changed RE's but not practices from IVF1 to IVF2. I think you need someone who listens and doesn't do a cookie cutter approach - they and you determine what's best for you and your situation. Don't be afraid to tell your RE that you want to take an aggressive approach and be honest with them about your finances. So happy to share my experiences and wishing luck to all of you still TTC. and baby cooties to all!
