Age: 33 (almost 34) DH (40) How long TTC: almost 2 years Diagnosis or any known issues: Right tube completely blocked and left tube partially blocked, DH has very, very low sperm count, morphology, etc... Treatments you tried before IVF: Referred right to IVF from the Get-go!!! How many IVF did you do before success: One cancelled cycle-ovulated on Lupron (yes, it CAN happen!) switched RE's and 2nd cycle, it worked!!! yay!!!! Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): 1st cycle-lupron, follistim, and Menopur 2nd cycle-bravelle, menopur and ganirelix *IVF w/ICSI* How many follicles at ER: 16 How many eggs retrieved: 14 How many eggs fertilized: 7 How many days between ER and ET: 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3 transferred -2 PERFECT 8-cell embroyos and 1 6 cell embryo that RE said would turn into an 8. Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Bad, Bad cramps, off and on, irritablity, tired, lots of bloating (look like 2 mos. pregnant already!)  HPT before blood test: NOPE!!!! Number of first beta: 699 17dp(er) Number of babies: ??? another 2 ww Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: That this is a *****!!!! It can drain you...in EVERY way shape and form!!! But what a miracle when you get that BFP!!!

Patti the Puggle Simon the Boston Terrier1st IVF cycle--cancelled--ovualted through Lupron (yes, it CAN happen!) Only had 7 follicles w/Follistim, Lupron and Menopur--Meldrum Protocol  2nd IVF w/ICSI cycle--switched RE's ER 16 eggs, 14 Matured, 7 fert. 3 embies Did much better with this cycle--Antagon Protocol --Bravelle and Menopur and Ganireliex 3 day transfer Blood test 7/17/09!!! (never knew exactly) How many eggs retrieved: 5 How many eggs fertilized: 5 How many days between ER and ET: 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: Didn't get a rating; 4 transferred Symptoms or issues during 2WW: fatigue, anxiety (!), sore boobies What day you got your BFP: 11 days after transfer HPT before blood test: yes -- took a bunch of them Number of first beta: 220 Number of babies: so far two, possibly three, but not likely. Second fetus has borderline (barely normal) heartrate -- so we'll see. The first fetus is large and has above-average heart rate. Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! The hormones really turned me into a witch. It was horrible. __________________

But DH has swimmers of steel... it's all me. Treatments you tried before IVF: Clomid and TI, Clomid/Metformin/TI, Clomid/Metformin/Follistim/TI, Clomid/Follistim/IUI, IVF. How many IVF did you do before success: First try...  Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): bcps, lupron, follistim, ganirelix How many follicles at ER: 10 How many eggs retrieved: 10 How many eggs fertilized: 4 How many days between ER and ET: 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 "perfect" transferred Symptoms or issues during 2WW: none that I remember... maybe just the overanalyzing of every little twinge and tingle... oh, my ta-tas definitely hurt... HPT before blood test: Absolutely... 11dp3dt Number of first beta: 48 Number of babies: One healthy little boy! Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: The the Progesterone needle doesn't hurt all that bad even though it looks like a PIPE... it actually hurts less than the lupron did.

May 3rd, 365 May 5th, 774  Number of babies: Just one.. Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! How much the ER would hurt... Are you using donor eggs or sperm: Donor Sperm Protocol (meds taken): BCP, PNV, Aspirin, Lupron, Follistim, Menopur, HCG, PIO, Vivelle, Endometrin How many follicles at ER: 20 (and many other small ones) How many eggs retrieved: 14, only 11 mature How many eggs fertilized: 6 How many days between ER and ET: 5 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 "Fair BB" expanding blasts Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Boobies were sore... no other symptoms. First + was 5dp6dt Number of first beta: 776 (10dp6dt) Number of babies: Two Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: Its a challenge both mentally and physcially and its a struggle. I had a great friend help me through it all and she had been there before. I would recommend either through your own friend network or this web site, getting in touch with someone who can assist you through the process. In the end, it was 100% worth it.

Long road, but it worked
Hi. Our fourth round of IVF was going to be our last. Fertility MD's did an excellent job but gave us a very low probability of success due to my inability to ovulate viable eggs. Our last round worked. Wahoo. I'm 35 years old. What did work well for us was the "flare" protocol in which birth control and Lupron are not used.
Age: 35 Diagnosis: Diminished Ovarian Reserve 4th Round of IVF Accupuncture: Yes Herbs: Yes Follistim (300 morning, 150 evening) Menopur (150) Ganirelix No Lupron No birth control Eggs Retrieved: 9 # Fertilized: 7 # Transferred (Day 2): 6 (4 2cell, 1 3cell, 1 4cell) Assisted hatching used.

That this is a "process" sometimes it takes more than 1 time, trust in your RE and don't give up!!

Well this just happened today but it worked!
Age: 31 How long TTC: 2 1/2 years Diagnosis or any known issues: unexplained Treatments you tried before IVF: Clomid, 3 IUI's How many IVF did you do before success: 1 Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): Lupron, Bravelle,Menopur,Progesterone How many follicles at ER: 21 How many eggs retrieved: 21 How many eggs fertilized: 16 How many days between ER and ET: 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred:All but 1 were 8 cell and on a scale of 1-5 1 being the best, they were all a 1! Symptoms or issues during 2WW: cramping, sore , huge boobs, brown discharge, bloated, emotional (TOTAL AF SYMPTOMS , EVEN NOW) What day you got your BFP: 10 days post et HPT before blood test: nope, didn't want to torture myself Number of first beta: greater than 50 Number of babies: don't know yet... Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! This is truly a commitment and as hard and emotional as it is the 2WW is the worst of it all! If I had to do it all over again besides the 2WW (from hell) I would in a heartbeat! IVF isn't bad, especially when it works! Don't stop believing!

my first ivf cycle
Hello Everyone,
I have been reading this forum for last couple of months and never posted any thing. Now I want to talk about my ivf cycle. I had started first ivf cycle after 3 IUI attempts. I am 30 and husband is 32. No issues with any thing so unexplained infertility. I started my birth control on 2nd of june and my two, three day embryo transfer on 25 july and then did my first HCG on 7 Aug which was 18 only. My doc said it is on lower side and we need to monitor as it should double in 48-72 hours. It was: 18..........36...........70.................121 and then I had spotting and checked my hcg which was only 126...........and she said leave your all meds and waiting for full flow. I was so depress after all this. Today is my first of full flow and now I am thinking about second IVF cycle. The whole cycle is a lot of pain.........bloood work, ultrasound.......injections and during job........I dont know what to do . Is anybody know how I can beat the odds. I am definately stop taking tea. I heard of acupunture....what is that and is this expensive.....I will try my second cycle after my second periods. Any suggestions...........

How long TTC: 5years Diagnosis or any known issues: orginally male infertility but after right food and vitamins classed as unexpained ahhhhhhhhhhhh Treatments you tried before IVF: nothing straight to IVF How many IVF did you do before success: worked 2nd time Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): Lupron, gonal f,Progesterone How many follicles at ER: 5 How many eggs retrieved: 5 (4 imatured and just 1 matured) How many eggs fertilized: just the 1 How many days between ER and ET: 2days How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 4 cell grade 1 Symptoms or issues during 2WW: nothing only sore boobs and then they stopped a couple of days before i was sure AF was coming What day you got your BFP: 14 days after 2 day transfer HPT before blood test: just did HPT but no earlier than they told me too Number of first beta: dont know yet waiting scan Number of babies: 1 Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! where do i start, 1st ivf went well and didnt work, 2nd i hated it i didnt respond well and it worked. it does only take one, it doesnt matter how many eggs and how long between the transfer. i was obsessing on numbers and in the end i had what i thought no chance, and its worked. i wish i had had more faith in ivf it does work and eventutally you do get your dream x
