my IVF update

I just got approved for my IVF. I will meet with the dr. on November 18, 2009. the dr. will tell then what I need to start doing. before my retrival. I am very excited.

Age: 31 How long TTC: 2.5 yrs Diagnosis or any known issues: PCOS; a retroverted uterus and hairpin turn in my cervix didn't help either. Treatments you tried before IVF: 1 Clomid cycle, 2 Clomid+IUI, 1 Injectibles+IUI How many IVF did you do before success: 2 Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): Long Lupron protocol-Lupron, Gonal-F, PIO (Cabergoline and Estrace too) How many follicles at ER: 12 on the 1st try, 9 on the 2nd try How many eggs retrieved: 9 / 8 How many eggs fertilized: 5 / 5 How many days between ER and ET: 3dt both times How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2x8A / 1x8A + 1x7A Symptoms or issues during 2WW: No spotting at all, AF-like cramps mainly in the morning, ruptured follicle so bad it caused a trip to the hospital at 1AM, fatigue, sore bbs, vivid dreams. What day you got your BFP: 7/13/09 (12dp3dt) HPT before blood test: Yes, the night before. Number of first beta: 278 Number of babies: 1 Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! 1. It's OK to demand info from your RE/clinic. They are there to help you get pregnant, and they should help you feel as comfortable as possible while in their care. Speak up if you feel uneasy. 2. Get a hobby that has nothing to do with infertility so you have an escape once in a while. Or try and hang out with friends more often. IF gets really lonely and isolated at times. 3. That this place existed! This website has been so wonderful in educating me about all things IF, and you ladies are truly amazing and inspirational. I'm so glad I found you! Good luck to you all!

Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): L6 protocol. Lupron, Bravelle, Menopur, Heparin,aspirin, a lot of vitamins, progesterone, dexamethasone How many follicles at ER: 12 How many eggs retrieved: 9 How many eggs fertilized: 6 How many days between ER and ET: 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3 all grade 1(highest rating) 6-cell Symptoms or issues during 2WW: sore breasts, some cramping, small implantation bleeding What day you got your BFP: 12dp3dt HPT before blood test: Yes, faint line on 8dp3dt Number of first beta: 151 Number of babies: 1 Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! I was well informed by my RE,clinic and this forum. The worrying never stops. And no matter how much you plan you still have no control of what will happen. Always trust the Almighty. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!!!!!! me: 31 yrs old- endo stage 3with lap 09 hubby 33 yrs old- perfect tryin for 2 years failed iui with femara sept 09 1st ivf-oct 27, 09 ER 11 eggs 7 good 5 day blasts nov 1 ET 1 good 5 day blast 6 blasts frozen 1st POAS 7 days post ET- faint positive brown spotting day 8,9,10 2nd POAS 9 days post ET- light positive 3rd POAS 10 days post ET- dark positive BETA test nov 11 .1st beta 11/11 110. 2nd beta 11/13 well over 400 dr. says may be identical twins??? waiting for 1 more blood test then ultrasound.  4 weeks 3rd beta 11/17 2800. ultrasound scheduled for 11/23 GOD IS ABLE

Age:35 How long TTC: 6 yrs Diagnosis or any known issues: Unexplained for a long time, eventually Diminished Ovarian Reserve Treatments you tried before IVF: Clomid, 2 IUI’s with Follistim How many IVF did you do before success: It worked on our second cycle (3rd if you count our cancelled cycle) Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): Antagonist Protocol – Follistim + Repronex, added Cetritide (Ganirelex) How many follicles at ER: 12 I think How many eggs retrieved:8 (7 mature) How many eggs fertilized: 6 with ICSI How many days between ER and ET: 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3 grade 3 (on a scale of 1-3, 3 being the worst) Symptoms or issues during 2WW: nausea/gagging a couple times, cramping most of the time What day you got your BFP: 14dp 3dt HPT before blood test: Nope, avoided them this time! Number of first beta: 658 Number of babies: 2! Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! These boards were a great help – I think before I started this process I was a little unaware of just how complicated and consuming it would be (besides expensive).

IVF was our only option How many IVF did you do before success: 2nd cycle was the lucky one Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No Protocol (meds taken): Follistim, Repronex, Lupron How many follicles at ER: 13 How many eggs retrieved:13 (9 mature) How many eggs fertilized: 6 with ICSI How many days between ER and ET: 5 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 "super star" embryos per RE Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Lots of bloating, exhausted, short of breath What day you got your BFP: 9dp5dt HPT before blood test: YES!!! Starting on 7dp5dt...very dark line Number of first beta: 674 Number of babies: 2! Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: Sometimes it takes more than once. I know it sounds crazy but for this cycle I ate pineapple core from the retrieval to 5 days post transfer. I read somewhere that was supposed to help the embryos stick. It obviously worked for me. I would recommend it to anyone. Make sure you have a strong support system, whether it's at home or on these boards. Best of Luck to all you ladies! Your time WILL come!
