Age: 35 (when doing IVF)
How long TTC: 5 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: Unexplained for a long time / then discovered Endo
Treatments you tried before IVF: Everything - got pregnant on my very last option!
How many IVF did you do before success: 2
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No
Protocol (meds taken): (I'll have to go through some old papers and edit this later - don't remember)
How many follicles at ER: 5
How many eggs retrieved: 5
How many eggs fertilized: 5 (only 2 considered good)
How many days between ER and ET: 3 days
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3 transfered (2 good quality)
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: a lot of mucus (sorry, gross but true)
What day you got your BFP:
HPT before blood test: didn't take one (was too scared)
Number of first beta: 152!
Number of babies: 3
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! Nothing else I would have wanted to know. Just to tell women to always think positive. It took me a long time to be positive about TTC. 5 years was a long road. I finally decided to give in and envision all three eggs "sticking" and all 3 did. The power of positive thinking can be beautiful!

You just have to stay positive I was in a very nice thread most of the girls were getting positive results till this day we still keep in touch it was about 8 of us I don’t know what I would have done without them they held may hand every step of the way!

Name: Erika
Age: 24 at age of conception
How long TTC: 2 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: Male Factor infertility: low count, low motility/mobility, poor morphology
Treatments you tried before IVF: none, this was our only option according to RE
How many IVF did you do before success: 1 failed fresh, first frozen worked.
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No
Protocol (meds taken): fresh-one shot of lupron, menopur & follistim, progesterone and estrogen pills and patches. frozen-progesterone and estrogen pills and patches
How many follicles at ER: not sure
How many eggs retrieved: 20
How many eggs fertilized: 11
How many days between ER and ET: 5 days
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 perfect blasts transferred for both fresh cycle and frozen cycle.
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: failed fresh cycle-none that i can remember, on frozen cycle i swear i felt implantation. on my second day after transfer i knew something was definately different this time. i told my husband "i think it worked, i feel different this time". it felt like tingling sensations in my lower abdomen. during the 2ww after that just a slight increase in hunger and off and on cramping, all different types of cramps from painful to menstrual like to twingy.
What day you got your BFP: 5dp5dt on clearblue digital easy
HPT before blood test: yes, negative at 3d5dt, first positive at 5dp5dt with clearblue digital easy. took one every day after. all positive
Number of first beta: 2,744 at 14dp5dt
Number of babies: 1
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! don't lose hope after a failed fresh transfer. what helped my confidence was that my dr. swore to me that at least ONE of my 4 remaining frozen embryos was DEFINATELY a baby. he said my blasts were perfect and to expect at least one to be a real baby. so that kept my confidence up. i also prayed alot all the days leading up to transfer and after. the day of the transfer when he was putting the embryos in i tried to imagine myself being in control and powerful. it helped my mindset alot to get through the transfer. that was also different than the last time when i was nervous. also during my first failed fresh attempt my husband and i did nothing the night before. on my frozen transfer my husband performed oral sex on me with orgasm, which actually may have helped the implanting according to what i have read. also during the 3 days of bedrest, i layed completely flat on my back the entire time this time. last time i layed on my side and sat up alot. i even layed completely flat on my back while i ate my food with just an extra pillow under my head for a prop this time! my husband stayed home with me and i had him carry me to and from the bathroom. the last time i walked myself to the bathroom. anyway i hope my info is helpful!

Our daughter has been alone for almost 5 years. We move around a lot due to my husband's job and our daughter has to contantly undergo making new friends and being the odd one out. We are so grateful to be able to give her siblings! Praise God!

It is very early in my pregnancy but I had to add this because this was initially supposed to be a sticky to give hope and inspiration. I had a hard time with that because I had multiple IVF failures. Instead, I'd get discouraged. So I want to add to the minority of women on this thread who tried MANY times and finally saw some success. Keep trying! Not everyone gets pregnant on their first IVF!

Name: Sue
Age: 34
How long TTC: 2.5 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: male factor/unexplained infertility
Treatments you tried before IVF: 3 chlomid IUI's
How many IVF did you do before success: 5 fresh, 1 frozen, #6 worked!!!
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: donor sperm
Protocol (meds taken): dexamethasone, gonal-f, menopur, HCG trigger, PIO, vivelle patches, medrol.
How many follicles at ER: 20
How many eggs retrieved:19, 17 mature
How many eggs fertilized: 14
How many days between ER and ET: 3
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 4 day 3 embryos - 1 9cell, 2 8cell, 1 7cell, 3 of them rated highest and all 4 with very little fragmentation
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: brown spotting on 5dp3dt, 6dp3dt and 7dp3dt. That's it.
What day you got your BFP: 10/29 or 10dp3dt
HPT before blood test: yes, + on 7dp3dt and darker on the following days.
Number of first beta: 81.9
Number of babies: 1
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! Sometimes it just takes time. Also - not all doctors are created equal. I would have gone for a second opinion so much sooner if I had known this. If it doesn't work one or two times, get a second opinion!!!! The protocol can make all the difference. It is not the physical part of IVF that is hard, it is the emotional part. It can be hard to keep picking up and going forward but it is very much worth it!
