UTI and Mixed Urogenital Flora
Alright ladies...looks like I can never enjoy my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with UTI a week and a half ago even though there were no symptoms of UTI. My OB put me on antibiotics for 7 days. I repeated my urine culture yesterday and the results were
LESS THAN 10,000 COL/ML MIXED UROGENITAL FLORA This sounds scary to me. What is this????? Has anyone been through this? Plz help. I am so scared.

Well, the body has natural flora (bacteria) that you want it to have. But overgrowth would give you a UTI. It sounds to me like the test says the antibiotics did their job and your UTI is gone. Did the doctor not tell you this?

no not yet. The hospital where my OB is they post all the results on the web and email you once the results are available. that;s how I cheked my results. Can't wait to hear from the OB on Monday.

This is generally considered a negative culture report and is good news if you had a proven UTI recently. Guess your abx did their job! BTW, 10,000 is a very small number in the bacteria world!

 Me (Kelly) - 34, blocked right tube, mild PCOS DH - 37, low motility TTC #1 since 1/05 11/05-1/06: 3 cycles of Clomid 100mg, all 7/07-12/07: IUI x 5 with Clomid/Letrozole, all 2/1/08 - HSG - right tube blocked IVF#1 - ER on 5/5/08 - 46 follicles aspirated, 30 eggs retrieved, 24 are mature, 17 fertilized. Cycle canceled due to OHSS. FET #1 on 6/9/08 - single blast transferred... FET #2 on 9/10/08 - single blast transferred. 10/15/08 - D&C for miscarriage  .FET #3 on 2/10/09 - single blast transferred. 3/12/09 - Ultrasound shows heartbeat at 136 bpm! 6/12/09 - Anatomy scan! It's a girl! 10/28/09 - Precious P arrives! 7lbs 10oz, 20 inches long. 6/29/11 - ! Natural cycle, no OPT's/BBT's. Completely shocked!7/15/11- U/S showed heart rate 160's, 8+ weeks.
