There are several steps to go through to prepare for a donor egg cycle. My last IVF was at the beginning of Feb, so we started asking about DE at that point.
My sister and I have been on BCPs for a for several weeks. Before that, we had to attend a counseling session and meet with a lawyer to set up a contract. Both our DHs were present for those. I started Lupron on Friday, and she will start next week. It won't be long before she starts stimming. I feel like we're in the home stretch now! We had to work a bit around her calendar, because she travels for work a bit in May and June. Thankfully, it's all working out. Good luck to the rest of you Atlanta ladies!

That's neat....lots of planning though. I updated the list above to show that you're already on Lupron
So you can chime in on those Lupron and moodiness questions LOLSo you have to go through a whole Lupron/Suppression cycle? You don't have to stim do you? Or do they make you do that as well? That's wonderful that your sister is doing that for you. Meeting with an attorney and such was I suppose due to you two being sisters? I didn't have to meet with an attorney, only a counselor, when I donated...but it was anonymous so again, I'm guessing that the attorney was because you were related. Well, I wish you the best of luck! I'm sure you're excited and your sisters is probably elated to be able to help ![]()

Lupron
I didn't have any problems with Lupron. In fact, I didn't notice any side effects from any of the meds I've taken, aside from a bit of constipation.
![]() I don't get stimmed during this cycle because we won't be using any of my eggs. I am currently taking Lupron, and my baseline U/S is on May 12. Later, I'll take Endometrem (sp) to prepare my uterus for the embryos.

Attorney
yes, we had to have an attorney since we were using a known donor. With an unknown donor, I don't think it's an issue.

That's great that you won't have to stim. How exciting...for you and your sister. I'm wishing you the best! And May 12th will be here before you know it!!! May 15th is when I start Lupron, so I'll be just a few steps behind you! Although I do have to stim LOL

Hi Ladies,
I am starting cycle #2 at GRS with Dr. Perloe. Like IndieBlue I was also accepted into the Duramed study. This study is a GODsend!!! We were originally at ACRM (1st failed cycle), then we moved to RBA (Dr. Shapiro-love him!) and we were all geared up to do our 2nd cycle at RBA until the study at GRS came along. Looking forward to hearing all of our success stories! CallyGirl (Stacey)

Stacey: I just noticed your counter at the bottom
How sweet....the little bugs are cute! So any news from GRS? I made my appointment for my baseline today and paid for the study, got my meds yesterday. I noticed on the other thread that one of the girls got a response about the study being closed now....wow that was quick. Isn't it a blessing that we made it in time!Kinz: How is your study protocol going?

I'm in Atlanta but unfortunately cannot participate in the study due to 2 IVF failures . This will be our time though I just pray!!! I got a 2nd opinion from GRS and I do love their office ;however , they didn't offer me anything differently so I am staying with my RE.
We are on day 5 of stims. ER sometime next week. My E2 level is already ahead of what it was last cycle. Tomorrow is our first peak at US.

Emily....I've heard great things about RBA and Emory....are you with one of those? I live closer to Chattanooga, so those are the only other 2 I've heard of...but I'm sure there are TONS in Atlanta? We are at RBA and love the office. I don't feel like our failure are due to anything physician or office related. They tend to be cutting edge and have great stats.
I travelled to Dunwoody this weekend for my visits and the travel time is 1 hour each way. I try to get my routing US/bloodwork done at an alternate satellite office. We are growing 18 follies (between 10-13). We have a few days to go probably next weekend. Indie Blue--I know you are dying to get started. The time before really goes so much faster than during treatment and definitely 2ww. We will be here for you during your cycle. Laurengator--Good luck with your fabulous sis!!! Has she had children before? ![]()

Emilysmom: WOW, that follicle count sounds GREAT! I'm glad you're happy with RBA, I actually had a call with them about the egg freezing study they had going on, but the cost was more than the Duramed Progesterone study so I went with this one instead. I'm looking forward to starting the Lupron, it's another part of it that I can then get over with LOL I guess since it took us so long to start (we contacted them in February) it seems like it's taking FOREVER, but gosh...we're already through with 1/2 the month of May and my ER is supposed to be around the 2nd of June so I shouldn't be complaining.
Kandygurl1971: How did your LAP procedure go? Are you recovering now? I hope it all went well and you're able to move on to your cycle soon. Cally: Just a few more days till Lupron!!! Have you been going over it in your mind? I have...checking the needles, making sure to read the inserts...etc. What time do you intend on taking your shot? I know my calendar says PM so I'm thinking any time between 6 and 8 would be fine....as long as I try to keep it consistent? Kinz: Do you have any dates yet? How has the pre-testing phase been going? Anu: Have you came to any conclusions? Still just waiting out your decision until it's closer to June/July? I really hope that you are able to have a positive cycle soon and both your embabies make it through thaw and snuggle in. LaurenGator: I'm interested as well....I think it's awesome that your sister is doing this....and I think you said she was younger....but has she had children yet? IMagicCat: Any news on the donor homefront? Did they give you any idea on how long it normally takes to be matched? I know when I signed up to donate eggs it seems like it FLEW by and I was done before I knew it. I hope you get some great news soon. Well, I'm starting Lupron tomorrow...YAY. I'll be done with my BCP's on Sunday...another YAY! LOL Nothing exciting yet...but here's hoping that the next 2 weeks flys by for me and I'm at ER before I can blink LOL

Hi Faith,
You are so terrific for starting this thread to keep up with us Georgia Peaches. I know you live in TN but once they implant your embabies here in the ATL you will be officially a Peach as well. Unfortunately my procedure was postponed until the 20th so I've have another week to pysch myself out on the outcome. I keep having horrific nightmares that I wake up and they've given me a hysterectomy (sp?). My surgery is being performed by Dr. Roberts at Emory. She is being very optimistic that all will go well. She believes that instead of a cyst I have a bunch of fluid trapped in all the scar tisue and adhesions, that my left tube doesn't appear on the ultrasound to be hydro and that the do not see the hydro on my right side either. I do have a couple of fibrods and polyps and if she finds that it has to be an open sugery (she's pretty sure it will be but she promised to try a lap first) then her plans are to clean out everything (sounds like I'm a closet or something) clip my right tube if indeed it's hydro (that's what they saw doing a previous HSG at GRS) remove my fibrods and get my uterus all nice and ready for a big fat baby. You should be good to go with the Lupron the needles look worse than their bite. What stims will you be on? I was only on Follistim and it you get the pen you don't feel a thing, I promise. Just pinch your tummy inject and then let go before removing the needle.
