It is exciting to see so many positive results. I just learned our first IVF cycle resulted in a BFN. We're gonna meet with the RE in a couple of weeks to determine our next step. I know it usually takes a few tries before most people get a BFP in particular at my age!! We're still hopeful! Good luck girls.

Hey there Melissa! Thanks for the well wishes. It's game over for me - I knew several days before the cramps I were having were too strong. I had my beta bumped up to today and it confirmed my situation. But I kind of had already prepared myself - just felt awful 2nd week of the wait, and the cramps now are worse than ever. But onward and upward. We are meeting with Boston IVF in addition to the follow up with our RE. We are not pleased with his ultra conservative approach and feel he's too experimental. So, all's well that end's well and I know eventually I'll get pregnant.

I wish you and all the gals on this thread all the best. I am rootin' for you all to get BFP's (and Melissa to have an awesome rest of her pregnancy)! I am going to take a little break from everything, so will be coming and going until I have healed and am ready to try again.

Hey Cath, thanks so much for reaching out. I was going to ask you opinion of the docs there as I know you really have been pleased with them. I left a message with Dr. Thornton's nurse to make an appt, just cause she's female and I am tired of my male doc at the moment. Her bio noted a specialty in upper age pregnancies, and more aggressive approaches, so I thought that was interesting. I'm assuming they'll let me use the local hospital to do the ultrasound/bw stuff like I do now, and they are just down the road from Lexington where we go now, so it's really not too much further. There have been multiple screw ups at our current clinic, so DH is in agreement with me that we need to go somewhere else. We have 1 month off so I'm hoping that's enough time to get records sent, insurance approval, etc.

You guys have all been so wonderful to me and I will be checking in to say "go BFP" every now and then - right now I'm still not feeling well physically and emotionally so I may disconnect a bit. Thank you so much for your support - I couldn't have made it thru as well without you.

Katy-- I am sorry to hear you received a BFN today as well. My heart goes out to you. I can feel your pain. It sounds like you have a great plan and are moving forward with or without your current RE. That's the right attitude to have. It looks like my DH and I are taking a month off as well so we may see you another cycle this summer!!

Katy~ I'm so sorry to hear about your BFN. I was really hoping that one little embaby would snuggle in. Take care of you and take all the time you need. You have a great attitude. It WILL happen for you, it just wasn't the right time yet. Sending hugs your way.

Katy ~ I'm so sorry (those seem like such pointless words right now, is there a better word than "sorry"?) but maybe you just need the right combo of the right doctor, the right approach, and timing...I'm going to keep a keen watch out for your return and your happy news. In the meantime, we're starting to have better/prettier weather so take some time to do some "New Englandy" things...walk barefoot on the Common, go on the whale watch (it's awesome!), do the dinner train on the Conway rail, or just find a nice walking trail near you and take some time to clear your head and heart.

Bonne chance mon cheri!!
