Mine wasn't creative either. When the first cheapie test came up with a VERRRRRY light positive, I had to show it to DH to confirm that it was there. He told me he didn't see it so I had to whip out the FRER. It came up right away bright as day. I wasn't scheduled for a beta since we were trying on our own.

I know the way I would like to tell him ...
I will a buy a plate and I have it engraved with " WE ARE ADDING ON TO OUR FAMILY" or "YOU ARE GOING TO BE A DADDY AGAIN" then go to our favorite restaurant earlier that day and have them use that plate to serve him his dinner on.
He always cleans his plate so he will def. see it.

I thought of telling our priest before mass, Since our whole congregation practically knows we are trying. Let the priest make an announcement during mass. My whole family as well as our friends at that mass will find out.

( my ils are renewing there wedding vows in St. Patricks Cathedral in Manhattan in 2 wws, I would love to have the priest tell them then. Omg they would love it.

Of course I have to get my first.....And I have to get the news while DH is at work, and then I have to keep the news to myself until he gets home (which will be really really hard for me)

I am going to have a huge bouqet of balloons sitting on our bed...pink and blue ones....with one that says congratulations and a card...We've waited so long for our I want to make it special.....The reason I am putting it on our bed is because I work out of my home and I want to make sure he is the first person to see it....

As for our families, we are waiting until we get our 1st u/s and sure everything looks good and then we are going to mail them a card with a copy of the ultrasound and make them call us before they open the card so we can be on the phone with them when they "see" the news (since we aren't close enough to tell them face to face)

Those are my plans anyway....but we will see how it works out (hopefully in next few months )

Reading the post brings back some great memories of that wonderful day!!! It's bringing tears to my eyes!!!

My way wasn't creative...When I got the call from RE that my Beta indicated a my DH was at work; I tried to call him, but he was in a meeting. I high tailed it over to his office and asked someone to please get him out of the meeting he was in. When he came out I looked at him, started crying, and told him "I'm pregnant!".

My story is similar to Katy's. I had a chemical in December and wrapped up a bunch of pee sticks to surprise him a few days before xmas. Obviously, that pregnancy didn't ultimately work out so I didn't try to get creative the second time around. I didn't POAS this cycle, so when I got the call from the nurse on Beta day I drove to his work and asked him to come down and we hugged and cried (okay, I cried) in the car.

The way my DW Tamtam told me was....when I got home from work, there was a balloon in the doorway w/ a sign attached to the string that said " Hi daddy, I'm really looking forward to meeting you!" and she was standing in the next room grinning like crazy!
