So for the last week I have been having sharp shooting pains in both sides of my abdomin, my lower back, upper back and chest. My RE said the earliest I could come in is Wed at 6 weeks. But I am wondering if I go to the emergency room today 5 weeks 3 days or tommorow 5 weeks 4 days do you think they will be able to see or do anything for me? The pain is not that bad but I am just so worried. Should I just wait until Wed assuming the pain does not get worse or should I go to the ER?

Oh and I already called my RE and she said that if I think I am having a heart attack I should go to the ER?????? She said she never heard of chest and back pain. I am not having a heart attack.

Wanttobemommy- you may want to consider going to the ER since you said there are pains in your back and chest. Then again they just may be pains associated with the changes in your hormones. If you don't want to wait until Wed., it may calm your nerves to be seen by a doctor in the ER. Sending you a big .

I don't know, it sounds like it could be gas. I had horrible, horrible gas up until about 8 weeks. I would say to see the RE on Wednesday unless of course you start spotting or bleeding.

I also had tons of gas, giving me sharp pains in random places, like my heart! (Though I'm sure it was actually my stomach.)

I think you need to do whatever is going to bring you the most peace of mind. It's important not to be stressed right now, and if it will make you feel safer to be seen by the ER doc, by all means go.
I had pains in my calves after my last cycle and was so worried that I had thrown a clot from the OHSS. I ended up going to the ER. They didn't find anything, but having the knowledge that all my test were negative was well worth it.

I agree with Lizzie518. I'd go to the ER just to rule out a blood clot. Any chest & pain back should always be investigated especially after all the drugs and hormones that are required for IVF. I would go to the ER (if for nothing else, peace of mind).

I'm sorry that you are still having the pain. I would think it is too early to do the u/s, and if the pain is not getting worse and you don't have spoting, then maybe wait till next Wednesday. My u/s is next Wednesday too.

Let's all relax. we know that if the baby can't make it, then whatever we do won't change anything. Just relax, and everything is already there.
