Anyone scheduled for ER in July ? I've been posting in the JUNE IVF postings but I think Im pretty behind most people ... I will be starting BCP's between 05/21 & 06/01.

Hi Kelli,

I am going to be starting my BCP's a little after you, probably around June 10th or so, but my ER is estimated to be in July also. I know the July thread is pretty quiet now, but I am sure it will really start hopping soon. Just a few more weeks to go to start. I never thought I would be so excited to begin giving myself injections LOL.

Anyway, are you doing anything to prepare? I started accupunture, and I am trying to eat better.

Im just overly excited to get going with this whole process ! It seems like we've tried so many treatments, Im ready for a successful one !

I've started exercising more and have thought twice about grabbing fast food Fast food is my down fall, its so easy to fall into .. no mess to clean up in the kitchen either.

I hear you - I am so anxious. We have not done any other treatments, as we have MF issue and IVF is really our best bet. DH and I just don't want to wait any longer.

How long are you supposed to be on the BCP's? It seems like some ladies are on them for 2 months. My RE has be on about 3 weeks and then adding Lupron somewhere in there. Of course I do not have my schedule yet, but that is the jist.

I'll only be on them for 3 or 4 weeks ... starting lupron in there somewhere. I think about cycle day 14 they have you come in for injection teaching and to start lupron shortly after ?
Are you doing your own injections or having DH do them ?

From all of the post in the June threads--I am judging that I may not make June ER as well---The RE nurse estimated that the IVF will be in June. But I have the trial transfer and injection teaching on 5/20 and my RE has not even spoken about BCP's. Are BCP's part of the standard protocol before Lupron or does some RE's skip that step?

From what I can see -I think that it varies. Some women are on BCP's for a whole cycle or 2 - some just 2-3 weeks. I guess it depends on what your RE has planned for you and what issues you may o may not have.

Kelli - as for the shots - I am terrified! But from I hope I will get over the fear after the first few. I know my DH will have to do the IM ones but I am still debating if I will do the sub-q's myself.

What is your plan?

My DH is supposed to do the injections. We went through the injection training a few months ago when we were going to proceed with IUI ( changed to possibly blocked tubes ) .. BUT as it is now, my DH is going to be out of town for two weeks, one of which is the week I will probably start lupron. I work at a hospital so Im sure I can get someone to stick me

I could stick people all day, I just dont think I can do it to myself ?

Oh man - you are so lucky. I have no one who could do it for me. I even joked with my RE - that for the trigger shot, I would drive to his house since he lives only a few min from us. It will either be me or DH. I worry about him working late etc - cause I think the shots need to be about the same time every night. Well, I guess we will worry about that when we get there.

If I had to give myself an injection, Im sure I could - it would just take a lot of courage
I know how it is to worry about every detail of IVF ... I read and re read our packet of information, Im so nervous Im going to forget to do something !

I know exactly how you ladies feel! I am alittle nervous about this process as well. Fortunately, my mom is a retired RN and gave me injectibles for my IUI's. I guess my re will tell me the protocol with the bcp's on 5/20, I hope. That will be Day 14--is it too late to start bcp's for this cycle?

Could you just call and ask, just so you dont have to keep wondering ? At my clinic, BCP's are started on day 1 to 3. However, your clinic may be differant

If it were me, I'd call. I noticed on your signature it say's, IVF with PGD - what's "PGD" ?
