It's so great that all the August ladies are moving along! It's so exciting!

Jamelle- I'm so sorry for your BFN. I'm not sure about the FET, since this is my first IVF, but I would say post a thread either on the main IVF board or on the FET board, since there are so many ladies here that have done FET's. I don't see why wouldn't be able to do it with your next cycle.

Waitingforbabies- I'll add you to the list later tonight, I'm just gonna wait to see if anyone else wants to be added and then redo it later tonight.

Bunnyslippers, I wish I was more experienced to give you some advice re: FET but this is the first time I've gone through this. I am sure you are frustrated because the protocol does seem odd (from a layman's perspective) given your history. I did ask my dr. if this doesn't work the first time and we were lucky enough to freeze, do we have to go through all the medications again. I understood her answer to be that I would not have to do the Lupron and the stims but would have to do the progesterone in oil shots, which made intuitive sense to me.

I do strongly believe that you need to tell the doctor exactly how you feel and make sure you are 100% comfortable with everything he/she is telling you. I asked a nurse a question the other day and she asked, will you just trust us? I told her I was sorry but I can only trust myself to make the right decisions after I have as much information as possible. My dad is a doctor and always stresses to us to be our own best patient advocate.

Hopeful1 -- Welcome!!!! Our list is really growing! You and I are right on track -- I am going to start stims on the 19th (hopefully) with an ER tentatively set for 7/30.

I did my very first Lupron shot this morning. I was surprised how cold and clammy I was when it came time to push the needle in. For those of you who haven't done it -- I couldn't feel a gosh darn thing. With no icing at all. Now, I know the big needles are a comin'. But so far, so good.

I think it is a Great idea to freeze meals ahead for stims or for the ER/ET. I haven't taken a vacation since last year in order to take as much time off as possible to kick back right before ER and after ET. How does everyone else plan on taking special care of themselves during this time?

Gwen & Deanna- I agree with the eating heathier during this time. I think that if there is anything we can do to help, we should do it! We're lucky ebough to live near tons of farms that have all kinds of fresh fruit anf veggies! Last night we went strawberry picking, yum! And we're doing our veggie garden that we always have in our backyard, and this year we decided to do it chemical free. I think we're willing to do anything that might help!

The nurse told me that the RE will decide if she wants me to do a fresh or frozen cycle for IVF #2. Considering that I have 5 frozen, and that I had OHSS, (E2 reached over 7000) why on earth would she want me to do a fresh cycle??? I would really prefer FET at this point.

Also, how long do I have to wait for AF? At this point, will be ovulating after my appt on 7/22, so does that mean I can make it for a FET in August?

Just as I was feeling confident and knowledgeable about IVF, I'm back to being clueless again. Any thoughts?

Hi! I had a BFN fresh cycle on May 23rd. I got AF the following Monday. The RE put me back on bcps so I could do FET that next cycle. I did FET on June 30th. Good luck!

bunnyslippers...this is my first cycle as well. So, I don't have any words of wisdom for you.

Amy...I love strawberries. I live in the Chicago suburbs but we still have a good number of farmers out this way and one lady that is a bee keeper. She has the most amazing honey products.

Gwen...the other things I am doing to take care of myself are stocking up on reading material. Too much tv and my mind will turn to jello. I am repainting a bedroom (hopefully for the baby) but, if not it is a warm yellow. The room needed done anyway. I am just looking for different activities that will keep my mind busy as well as help alleviate some of the stress.
DH and I are kind of planning the ER and ET as a honeymoon phase. We are going to pamper one another.

I'm in the exact same boat. I've no idea why they would consider a fresh cycle with that many frosties. You should get AF within 4 days or so of stopping your progesterone, but some women have to wait a lot longer. We are scheduled to transfer on August 20th. Yes, it's frustrating to finally feel like you understand the process and then start in on a whole new protocol. I will be getting my calender sometime early this week and am looking forward to getting started. I start estrace in about a week and then Lupron in about 2.

Mead80 -- I'm not sure what PGD is? I'm sorry. . .so new to this process and I am learning as I go.

MichelleP -- Wonderful to have another July/August ER/ET person. I'm in the same boat and have been reading the July posts to get an idea what to expect and questions to ask the RE.

Amy -- nothing says summer like fresh strawberries, especially when they are just picked. I'm in awe over the veggie garden. Complete awe. I would love to do that but have enough trouble keeping my herb garden alive. Looks like plenty of trips to the farmers market for me, but it is NOT like getting it fresh from the garden with no pesticides.

dlrust1 -- you and I think alike. It's kind of scary. My husband I just made a Barnes and Noble trip. Reading is a definite necessity. I would never get my mind to relax otherwise.

I hope this week flies by for everyone. Here's to making some progress!

michellep and GwenRenee Yea! It seems we are on the same schedule!! How exciting!!

Kathryn I am sorry, I am new to IVF and I don't know what PGD is. Could you please explain? I hope it isn't something I should know about - how silly I feel.

Amy - What I would give to be able to grow fresh veggies and fruit in my yard! Not only do I lack a green thumb but the ground here is tough to grow things in. I live by the everglades and right under our grass is coral. I like to go to the farmers market or Whole Foods. I agree we need to try to eat healthy - any and everything helps, right?

I signed up for Yoga today and start tomorrow. Hopefully along with acupuncture I will be able to relax. I like the idea of preparing foods in advance! Good thinking ladies! My RE also told me eating out isn't a good idea. They use too much salt and MSG.

Uggggggg! So many things to think about! It will all be worth it when we start to see those BFP!!!!!

Hi Mead,

Just in case you missed her - There is woman on the July IVF board doing PGD, her screen name is PleaseBPositive, and I'm sure if you PM her she'd be happy to chat about it. She is actually at her ER this morning!!

I am very excited to be on the same schedule with you and GwenRenee....it's so nice to be able to come here and find someone who knows exactly what I'm experiencing. In my personal relationships, I am getting alot of support, but they don't really understand the process, and none of them have gone through it themselves, so this forum is truly a blessing!!!
