I finally have the green light from my RE last week to start a new cycle. I will hopefully be transferring the first part of August.

I completed my first cycle last February and recieved a BFP, but the heart stopped beating around 7.5 to 8 weeks. That was my 4th miscarrage. I am hoping that this will be the cycle to actually stick.

Do they know why you miscarried?

No, they don't know why I misscarried this time. They sent a sample of tissue in for chromosome (sp??) testing, but it had been to long between when the hb stopped and discovering that it had stopped to get any results.

My OB seemed to feel that it was just one of those things. It is very frustrating.

I am glad to see you on the board. It is great to see a familiar person. I will have to go out an look at your blog. I had been thinking about starting my own IVF blog. I already have a frugal blog (frugalsister.com).

Nice to see you too, Tina! Again, I am so sorry for your loss. I was curious about the testing since I've been put through a lot of immunological/thrombophilia checks that fall into the RPL category even though I haven't had a loss yet (God forbid). I was wondering if they did all those mthfr/factor V/ etc etc. tests on you. I'll be transferring beginning of sept actually so you'll be a month in front of me. You've got your cheerleader here! I am not sure what my doctors have tested for, but after my 3rd miscarrage I went through 8 months of testing. After choosing a RE, she put me through even more tests. I did ask about any further testing that could be done after this last miscarrage and both my OB and RE said that there was nothing more to test for.

The only things that came up was that I have a gene that depletes my body of Folic Acid and both my tubes were blocked. They were able to clear one tube but not the other. I am now on a perscription high dose folic acid twice a day for the rest of my life. Low folic acid can cause heart problems later in life along with some other side effects. I alway forget to take the second dose at night. I just finally set an alarm on my palm to remind me. I am also on a baby asprin a day for the rest of my life.

I gained 15 pounds with this last pregnancy and I am having troubles getting it off before I start this next cycle. I am also going to stop drinking coffee and eating chocolate before I start meds. I am hoping that starting earlier on a better diet and no caffine will improve my chances. It will be easier this cycle since there are more fresh fruits to choose from and I don't drink as much coffee in the summer time anyway.

Life is not as stressful these days as when I went through my last cycle. I am hoping that will help as well. I am trying to make time in my schedule to meditate more, but it is hard to get everything in in one day. I tried meditating on the bus and train to and from work, but I end up falling asleep. I guess I need my rest more than meditation.

Sounds like they did a lot of tests. I had the MTHFR gene too. But i have only one copy. I pick up my prescription for the folgard (folic acid + b vits) today. I know what you mean about falling asleep when you meditate. It happens almost every time for me too. :-)

Question for ya'll-- I found out today I am going to NYC for a work meeting at the beginning of August. I should still be on Lupron. With all the new rules for traveling...how do I bring that on the plane? (I KNOW it is way early to think about that but what can I say.... type A!!)

Ok RE called I am to start BCP's after this AF starts I go in on Oct 3ed the day before my B-Day for and U/S and B/W and then they will tell me my med doses and I start to stim after OCT's AF ! YAAA I wise it was sooner but they said itwould be good to give my OV 's a break because I was on the clomid for the last 3 months !

That would be a GREAT B'day DREAM come true!

Sarah, I travel all the time for work and have brought needles and meds on with me. The first time I had my re write a note but since then I have just told the tsa that I was carrying it. I have never had any problem.
