I usually take Excedrin for headaches - it's the best I have found for kicking it out early but it has caffeine....and I guess since I'm not PG yet I can take it? See - I told you ladies there would be questions.

The Dr. is thinking my body just doesnt respond well to lupron, and that is what did it. I specifically asked the nurse when I was put in a holding pattern if this could happen, and she told me no. I didnt have my first u/s until I'd been stimming for 4 days, which is when we noticed the cyst. They thought it would go away. But, on day 8 of stims, it was still there, and eating all the meds. Seriously, my e2 level dropped considerably in 3 days because of it.

As for caffeine, I was told moderation is ok. With that, though, 2 excedrine have more caffeine than 2 cokes or one coffee, so just take that into consideration!

Temika . It is so exciting to get underway .

I met with RE today and we will not be changing protocol. Since we had success with it last time. The one thing we will change is possibly going for a 5 day transfer . We will see how many embies we have to work with. I can't believe it I start Lupron a week from Sunday on 8/17. Supression check will be on 8/26 then I will find out what day I will be starting stims!

we will all be soon

Samantha
Samantha, I go in on the 26th as well to make sure my ovaries are quiet. They have me starting stims on the 29th but that can change depending on what they see on the 26th.

Just put in an order for my meds today. Last time the mail order pharmacy I had to use to save the most money were terrible. I am gonna try them again, so pray that I get my meds on time. They have 9 days to get me my lupron. I need to call them and make sure they got the fax from RE.

Oh, also I had my nurse consult yesterday. As a reminder, my FET was cancelled in July b/c my embies did not survive (there was a freezer malfunction). MY RE said we "would work something out" for the IVF cycle, but DH and I did not know what that meant. So after you meet with the nurse you meet with the financial counselor (so you can hand over the big fat check) and she said that per my RE's instructions the entire cycle is free. Yes!!!! I am so relieved!!! They really did not have to do anything at all b/c I signed a release stating I would not hold them responsible if something happened during cryopreservation.

So, I called my mom with the good news yesterday that the entire cycle was free thinking she would be extremely happy b/c she kept saying, "they better pay for the next cycle since it's their fault." (technically, it is not their fault--something wacky just happened with the freezer. Anyway, she asked if they were paying for the meds and I told her they were not b/c they are not the ones that supply the meds to begin with. So, she got all upset over that and made me feel like crap. My mom can be extremely negative sometimes. The things is she knows how important it is not to stress me out!! Uhhhh! Anyway, she called back later to apologize, but I just don't understand why she can't focus on the positive.

Thanks for listening to me vent. Gotta go call back the pharmacy and make sure they received the fax from RE.

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!!!!

CarrBear- It is GREAT the RE is doing that! It's horrible that the freak accident happened, but like you said, they really were in no way liable for what happened.

I understand about not wanting any negativity around you, I actually dropped a couple of friends during my first IVF process because of how negative they were.

What pharmacy do you use? I agree, you are giving them MORE than enough time!

I know, I feel like it's taking so long to get the process started. I hate being on the bcp. I wish I could skip straight to Lupron--luckily only 9 more days until we start!!!!

You must be feeling better now that you know your schedule. I am trying to remain stress free (as best I can). I am doing acupuncture this cycle (never did it before for fertility). Wish it were not so expensive. Oh well, it will be worth it in the end hopefully.

Have a great weekend.

Well, I am using Accredo Medco Mail Order Pharmacy. We have some insurance coverage for our meds which is why they work out to be the most reasonably priced. I am hoping they get it right this time!

Part of the reason I haven't really told any friends is that I don't want to have to explain myself, or again have any negativity around me. My mom feels really bad--I just expected her to be thrilled. As we all know IVF is expensive!!!!!!!!

How are you feeling?

Carrbear, don't let your Mom's negativity get you down. I am sure she means well and she, nor anyone else except others who are in our shoes know what you are going through. I have some friends who all they could say when I told them that we transferred 3 embryos was "Oh my God, what if you have triplets, what will you do?" and it would make me so angry because all I wanted to say was "Oh MY GOD... I guess I would have triplets" and then punch them in the mouth for being so stupid... LOL... I mean, triplets is better than nothing. People who don't know and don't have to worry with this stuff just don't understand.

I have coverage too, but I can use my local pharmacy. I used metro drugs for my first cycle, though, and from what I've heard they're very reasonable. My ins. co actually prefers mckesson, but they could never get their stuff together!

I'm feeling good, the cyst removal was uncomfortable, but over easily. I'm just waiting on to get here so I can get back in the game!

Carrbear - I totally understand where you are coming from regarding the negativity. One of my best friends for the past 15 years (who was a bridesmaid in my wedding last year) pretty much stopped communicating with me when I told her back in February that we were going forward with getting pregnant?! Can you believe that? I mean, are you only allowed to be friends when you're single? Oh well, I decided that wasn't my problem or cross to carry - her choice. Same with my mother - she thinks the doctors are all out to make a million$$$ and encourages IVF when she has no clue that this is our only real chance of having a baby!! So sad and frustrating.....since we made the choice to do IVF in Sept. I haven't told her one word - it's not a good time with my father having knee surgery this week and my uncle (her brother) is really sick so I'm glad I haven't said anything. Unfortunately we are so close but in this situation I just can't handle the negative thoughts....I hope that we are able to conceive and then SURPRISE her with the news. My sister-in-law is pregnant now expecting their 2nd child in January so that's helping me to.

NO NEGATIVITY in this group - we are all positive and keep thinking that way!!

I'm glad you're feeling good, I'm sure that was not the most comfortable thing to go through, seems we women go through alot don't we?

You are fortunate if you have any coverage on IVF - my insurance doesn't cover one thing - not even the blood tests so we are really buckling down for the procedure....I think my RE said it would be about $2,000 for the meds - not sure if that's outrageous or fair? This gets overwhelming sometimes.

We are very blessed to be able to have coverage! I really think God put me in the position he did because we'd be facing this.

The company I worked for closed overnight in 2006. I took the position I did because I was desperate (how bad is that?). 3 days after taking this position I found out I was pregnant. I had a missed miscarriage at the end of April last year, and we tried in earnest to get pregnant for 8 months afterwards. When we sought out an RE, I was AMAZED that my ins covers it! All of my meds are covered, and IVF is covered 4 times for the first pregnancy and 2 times for the next attempt. Seriously, God has blessed me in great ways. THAT is what I choose to think about when I get down and out.

And you are soooooooo right about what we put ourselves through! DH complains about giving his samples in a brightly lit bathroom. When he saw the needle the dr used for aspiration (thank God I didnt!) he said he thought *he* was going to pass out.

Kim-

I learned the hard way to speak in "generalities" about our IF journey. I shouted from the rooftop our two IUI dates of importance, and was crushed. Then I told people about our IVF journey, and found that I was just under too much scrutiny again.

I've *finally* learned my lesson. We tell them what we're "going" to do, but that we've not settled on a date yet. Oh, and that it's not up for discussion, either!

You're so right about speaking in general terms - I have to do that at work b/c I don't want everyone asking or even worse, passing judgment. I did have to tell my boss because of all of the future dr. and lab visits but he's a man and doesn't need more than "I'm going to the girl doctor" and he's fine with that. We are definitely not telling my in-laws, they are older and really couldn't get their minds around this procedure so how we conceive is no one's business, we just hope for a healthy baby!!

Hello

I guess I'm very blessed my job ins, covers everything I just got to pay co-payments. which isnt bad not at all.

I felt the same way about my in laws but to my surpise we told them last Friday and they was very happy, they want grandchildren.

I guess they understood why we have to do it by IVF, be cause 10 years ago my DH had cancer and just froze his stuff. So thats how we are doing this IVF. So they are being very supportive with this cycle. The other 4 times we didnt tell them a thing.
