Hey everyone! I started cycling back in July, I was on long Lupron protocol. I had to cancel my cycle because my E2 was still high, and I wasn't going to be able to time things to work around my work and school travel schedule.

My RE told me to come back when I'm done with my last trip and get my menses. He will then start me on the antagonist protocol. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hey Guys:
How is everyone doing?
Sorry I have been out of touch with everyone - was trying not to sit on the comp a lot - I tend to do lots of research and that makes me crazy sometimes - was just relaxing ...
Went for my first accupunture session - it was awsome - I was so relaxed.
Looks like many of us are on track now. Hopefully my insurance will be approved by this weekend and then my meds wil be ordered and I can start the stims on 30th.

I have some questions for the ladies who are taking herbs. I went to a licensed "herb doctor" and she recommended one mixture for me. I called up my RE to tell him I will be doing that for atleast 2 weeks . Got call from him immediately asking me not to do that since they don't know how it will affect me during IVF cycle esp during ER (anesthesia).I want to take them if they can help me increase my chances of getting BFP but I am all confused now. May be these answers will help me

1) Did you guys tell you RE about the herbs you are taking - was he/she ok with them?
2) Did you guys take the herbs till your stims started or till ER ?
3) How did the ER go? (I know this is a dumb question .... hopefully you guys will not mind my asking tihs) esp the anesthesia part.

Thanks soooooooo much for the help.
Have a nice day everyone
Priya

Hey Cristine:
So sorry the cycle got cancel led in July.
I had high 3-day FSH and my RE said I don't need to go on Lupron since my ovaries were already "suppressed" ..... so I started with the antagonist protocol. You will directly go to stims meds around 4th or 5th day of your period.

That's interesting to know. It seems from my response to the Lupron that they had trouble suppressing me. I could not continue with the protocol because I had previous work and school commitments.

I'll be happy to go directly to stimming next time around. The long Lupron protocol really seemed to make things draw out.

Cristine- I was on Lupron for 45 days when I started stimming this month. They think the lupron caused a cyst (4 cm, 80 cc!).

So.... I am on an antagon cycle this month as soon as AF arrives. I'm thinking we're in the same situation? From what I've been told, I will go from a few days of bcp directly to stims with the antagon being added in the last few days.

I'm excited about it because it makes the cycle much shorter, lol!

Yep, I had a cyst too. I travel for work, so the shorter protocol seems like my best bet. I really cannot afford not to travel for a couple months at a time and be effective in my job. The RE offered to let me continue on Lupron as it seemed my E2 level might eventually start to come down, but I would have had to miss class, which was out of town. I had already made the commitment to be in class and my company is paying for it, so I could not justify not attending.

I had a good antral follicle count and my hormone levels are good. My RE says I seem more like a woman in her early 30s, rather than late 30s. He believes I will be successful even if we have to wait a couple months to start again.

It's frustrating, but I cannot risk my livelihood over my treatment!

It sounds like we have a lot in common!

I travel quite a bit for work as well, mostly to power plants and municipalities. It's been hard to try to do all that and follow protocol. I can't risk my livelyhood either.

I'm 29, but according to the RE, I'm now in the "halftime" for my fertility. Gotta love football references to relate to your ovaries!

LOL my RE exclaims over my ovaries whenever I go for an appointment. It's funny because he saw our profile but hadn't examined me and he seemed all doom and gloom until he poked around my uterus, saw I had a good antral follicle count and my FSH was 5.9, now he's all optimistic and perky when he meets with me.

Hi Cristine and Sara,
I had my 1 succsesful cycle, as an antagone one. It worked for us and we have our Son! I only had 4 good size egs but the quality was good. 3 fertilized and we put 3 back, 2 beeing 8 cell A.

I was considered a poor responder, at that time FSh 9. This time we go with the micodose flair protocol and they hope to start them erlier in bigger number.
Crisitne, your Fsh looks great!
I wish you ladies great stimulations and succesful embies!

Welcome to the September group. I start lupron on the 17th, so we are starting just around the same time. It seems there are a few of us who are starting lupron around the same time. It will be nice to have some 2ww buddies.

I hope everything goes well for you! I will be praying that you have a good response this cycle.

I am 38, my FSH is 4.0 and had a good antral follicle count, but I also a poor responder.

I was told generally only someone with high FSH and poor ovaries quality will respond poorly to stim; why it happened to me too? because my age???

I responded poorly to suppression. Go figure. The responses are so individual, and it's difficult to predict how any one woman will respond, compared to another.
