How to tell the family?

Hey ladies. The June group has had a rough few days and I thought I would put an uplifting subject. I am a little early but here goes. My transfer will probably be on Saturday. My family does not know we are doing this because I just can't handle the constant phone calls and how are yous. How is everyone planning on telling the family when we get out BFP? Our family knows we did this before and failed and have always wanted kids, so they will understand it is a bid deal. I really want to go all out but my husband just wants to tell them were pregnant. Any cute ideas for cool ways of telling them? This should be fun, Tonya

no idea

I would love to do something special for my DH and our family, but everytime I start to think about it, my plan ends up with me jumping up and down screaming waving a pee stick in the air, then I wake up ... So i am probably not any help.

I look forward to this thread though...

If we had gotten pregnant before trying ivf, I had planned on sending my parents a cute little photo album I picked up a long time ago. It says, "Grandchildren" on the front and then I always thought I could send a nice little letter saying that they should expect a new grandchild, and depending on how long we waited, maybe include a sonogram pic. You could do something like that but put in a pic of your little embabies.

cafepress.com has some cute shirts about grandparents and stuff like that. You could look at those and send them tshirts or something and wait for them to call

ROTFLOL....That is hysterical and that is exactly how I see myself doing it too!!!

I have no idea how I would tell the parents. I mentioned to my mom about starting the IVF process and I think I totally took her by surprise and she really didn't know how to react. I live in GA and my whole family is up in NY. We have no family down here. I was so upset by my moms "non-reaction" that I called my sister to tell her but she said that my moms just worried b/c she can't be here for me and she doesn't know how to handle that. My family and I are very close and I hate being so far apart.

I love the idea that Sprink gave! The photo album would be adorable!!!

I have no original ideas....I'm pathetic

I love Sprink's idea too. I think I might put a copy of the picture of the embabies on the first page of the album.

I have watched about 100 videos on youtube of people telling their family they are pregnant. My favorite concept was a scavenger hunt. Here is the video that gave me the idea. I should start stimming July 28th and know whether or not it worked by the end of August. Since that's a bit away from x-mas, I think I'm going to do it on my mom's birthday Sept 20th.

My husband's family live in Washington D.C. and like most people in D.C. they are HUGE Washington Redskins fans. So when we were going thru our first cycle I bought a little baby sleeper, bib, and booties with the Redskins logo on each of them. We are going up to see them for the 4th of July so (and I am thinking positively) when we get the BFP next week I will wrap up the baby outfit and take it up there and give them the gift as a "little something we picked up because we thought they would like it". I know it is a little early to tell them but my DH really wants them to know and the minute my MIL suggests we have a cocktail and I refuse, she is going to know something is up.
