Question for twin mommies....

Hey there ladies~
I was just wondering when ya'll started feeling the babies move around? I am 13 weeks right now which I know is a couple of weeks early but I thought maybe since there is two in there...that maybe I would feel them move a little sooner than with a singleton pregnancy. I wish I knew what it feels like so I could watch for it but I guess when I feel it I will probably know that its the babies. I am just being a little neurotic and impatient and want to feel the little guys moving in there. Thanks for any info you would like to share!!

Mel

That wasn't the case for me. I didn't start feeling them move and knowing it without a doubt until I was about 19 weeks. I assumed the same thing but it didn't work that way for me.

I felt them around 16 weeks. It was one of those, "do I feel them??" and yes it was them. Some say it is like a fluttering, but I just felt like someone was bumping me lightly inside. After you feel it for a while, you will be sure - you probably have a few more weeks though - don't worry...after you start feeling them, it doesn't stop!! haha. It's a wonderful feeling, but at least for me, baby A NEVER stops - he is going to be a handfult. Baby B is super quiet

I was at least 20 weeks before I thought I was feeling them for sure. Now I feel them all of the time. I know it's frustrating, you really want to feel them, especially when it seems like everyone else feels there babies at 14 or 16 or 18 weeks or whatever, but believe me you'll feel them and you'll know it when you do!

I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow, and I'm still not sure if I've felt them. Sometimes I think I feel something, but then yesterday it felt like someone running their hand down my stomach from the inside, and I REALLY thought that might have been movement. I can't wait to really know what it feels like.

I didn't really know that I felt them until about 20 weeks and I still don't feel the boy as much as the girl, because of placentas, position, etc. Looking back after I knew what it was I was having feeling before then but I didn't know that was what it was. This morning for the first time ever I saw my stomach move and there was rapid fire movement for about 5 minutes but that is the first time I've felt that and I am almost 26 weeks! My dh didn't feel them until about a week ago!!!

I'm at 14 weeks today and haven't felt anything yet. I have been hoping because you hear of others feeling this early but I think it is also if you have had another baby before you recognize it earlier. These are my first so I don't know if I would recognize what I was feeling at this point anyways

I felt my first flutter around week 14 and then again at 16 and then nothing until 19. It's on a regular basis after week 19. Now the kicks are more stronger than just a flutter. My little girl is so active and kicks all the time. My boy is little quiet but when he kicks...OMG..he kicks on the nerve and makes me hold my stomach. THey both are movers and shakers now.

i thought i felt "tickles" at around 16 weeks, but got my first kick like "OH WOW that's definetely baby!" at 20 weeks. then, towards the end of the pregnancy, you will never remember a time when you couldn't feel them! at the end, while going for my non stress tests, dominik would kick the monitor and had all the nurses laughing hysterical. enjoy it when it happens!

I'm 18 weeks Friday and I'm pretty sure I can feel them, but I guess I don't really know for sure. People always mention that "butterfly" feeling but what I keep feeling is more like a little twitch or cramp or pinch down in the area where the babies are resting. Sometimes on the right side, sometimes on the left. I've been feeling it for a couple weeks, and it's been getting stronger/more frequent, so I really think that's what it must be. But I haven't yet had that, "a ha! definitely movement!" moment.

If it turns out I'm right, then I'm going to have to be the first to debunk the myth about that butterfly bullsh*t. Just joking, I know it's different for everyone, but this doesn't feel like a butterfly. More like a very small crab.

Kelly, too funny - it never really felt like butterflies or popcorn popping or anything like that to me either. To me it feels like really odd gas pains and just a rolling kind of sensation - nothing that tickles, more just odd!!! Lately I have been feeling more kick, punch type of movements and they feel just like you imagine it to feel when you see a baby make jerky little hand and foot movements when they are sleeping - now, those feelings I love because I can just envison them sleeping in there twitching! I feel the girl way, way more because her placenta is anterior and his is posterior so even though I see him wiggling all over the place on ultrasound I rarely feel him.

Yeah Shellie - so glad I'm not the only one who isn't down with the butterfly! Mine feel similar to gas pains, too. I know they aren't, but it's that kind of sensation. Kind of like I drank a milkshake, and I'm lactose intolerant. Lol.

It sounds like we've got a similar womb arrangement going on - my little girl's placenta is anterior and the little boy's is posterior, too.

Rock on!

i felt them at about 20 weeks and now i feel them and you can see my belly move but i was told with a twin preg. as they grow, ofcourse they have less room than a singleton, so twin movements will be less as they grow... due to space issues.
