Glucose Results
Okay ladies.. I had my glucose test yesterday. My results came back at 144. What's the normal range?? Is this normal or do I have Diabetes??

If it was a one hour test they will most likely ask you to do a 3 hour test. If it is still high then you have GD. They should have given you a sheet with a reference range. I just pulled out my test sheet and a number over the following range is considered high:
1 hr - 180, 2 hr - 155, 3 -140. Two or more values greater han the above reference range are suggestive of GD. Now as far as normal glucose levels during the day. The fasting (morning level) shoudl be below 90 One or two hours after meals should be below 120. You need to talk to your doctor. Good luck!

It was a 1 hour test and no fasting was done for the test. It was around 1 pm. I didn't eat lunch before the test just breakfast.

I just found out I failed my 1 hour glucose test (also no fasting) and my number was 141. I am being sent to do a 3 hour test next week that requires fasting and carb loading, sounds like what they will probably ask you to do too.

Don't sweat it: my first 1 hour at 13 weeks came back 210!!! What??? 3 hour was <90 but I had to repeat three more times and my 1 hour was 150+ each time and always passed the 3 hour; they said sometimes when pg you process sugar more slowly which is why the 3 hour tells you more. And I ate SOOO healthy, almost fell over at 210. Schedule your 3 hour for the earliest, like at 6:00AM, time possible b/c you can't eat and that juice is even worse than the 1 hour juice and you get hungry!!!

yeah my doc said that it was high. I had my 3 hour today. It was so boring to sit there for 3 hours and I was starving by the end of 3 hours. My babies were wondering what happened to mom today...no food for us. LOL.

alright I got my 3 hour test results back. All the bw taken during fasting, 1hour,2hour looks good and is below the range. the 3 hour range is below 139 and mine was 145. Does that mean I have gestational diabetes???

I'm so confused about the ranges. I have GD and I know what my blood sugar is supposed to be after eating and when I wake up. Can't help you much just wanted to say good luck and look how far you are.

to be considered non diabetic weather type 1, 2, or GD, your blood sugars should be between the ranges of 70-120 within 1, 2, or 3 hours of food/drink consumption.
could also be that you did your test in the middle of the afternoon from a non fasted state. good luck with the three hour test.

i too just got dx with gd ... not fun .. after 3 hrs mine was 141 so i was sent to nutrionist . i thought i was eating the healthest in yrs. but soo far ive been watching my carb intake and my sugars have been close to perfect.
