Pregnant

Hello my name is Jill. I am new to this board. A friend of mine referred me here and thought I'd check it out. I recently got preggo on our 3rd IUI and am 5 weeks today! I now have OHSS. I have been on bedrest almost a week now and going crazy. My hematocrit/hemoglobin numbers are so high they don't want me up. I am so worried about getting a blood clot now though. I was wondering if anyone has had this and what to watch for besides shortness of breath.

Anyway, I found out I was preggo at 3 weeks! I was so surprised I couldn't believe it but had such early symptoms I had to test. So they did a blood draw and my numbers were back at 274 and rechecked it 48 hours later and up to 578! I don't know if I should be expecting more than one here or not! LOL. Thanks in advance to any advice here and look forward to talking to you ladies more.

Welcome and congrats on your BFP!!!! I dont have any experience with clotting but hope that bed rest helps and OHSS is no fun I know, drink lots of gatorade it helped me! If you were that early with your beta you could very well have more than one in there, maybe two or just one bean that is good and cozy!

Thank you so much! Yes I have been drinking LOADS of Gatorade and has seemed to help. How long did your OHSS last? I guess they are just concerned about the clotting cause my blood is so thick and possibly being dehydrated. They are getting better thank goodness. They admit at 15 I guess and 2 days ago I was 14.8 and today I'm 12.6!! Thanks again!

I can't help with advice about the OHSS, but I want to say anyways!! I found this site just before my IUI and don't know how I would have made it this far without it!

There are no questions that are silly, paranoid, or over-the-top. You'll always be sure to find one (if not a dozen or more) women who have been right there too

Congratulations on your new pregnancy! I wish you a wonderful 9 months

I know for circulation I was told to rotate your ankles and try and stretch them and move them whenever you can. If you do get admitted into the hospital, they put these cuffs on your ankles to keep you from getting blood clots. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was on bedrest for a month and also had OHSS at the beginning of my pregnancy. So, I know what you're going through. Congrats on your pregnancy! Good luck to a happy, healthy 9 months.

Everyone for your help and advice! I appreciate it. You are all so sweet, wish I would have found this board going through my IUI's! I am still on bedrest over the weekend though my numbers are improving. I've had a lot of pain in my right ovary area today, not sure whats going on there. I tried calling the nurse as they are in till noon on the weekends but no response. I hope its just related to the OHSS. Think its anything pregnancy related? I'm not having any cramping/bleeding. I'm so paranoid after everything that has happened so far. Sorry.
