baby closets...organization

Okay, for those of you with set up baby closets (or in the process), can you post pics here for the clueless (ME)? We have a smallish closet and room for the baby and I want to maximize space, but I am horrible with this kind of thing. I want to see what you girls are doing. Especially since the nursery pics are so fabulous and really do give me great ideas.

Thanks

Tristan's closet is not put together as we go thru the outifts/towels/sheet savers he doesn't use anymore so at the moment it's very messy but I will tell you what we do have in there to maximize space

We have extenders so we can have 2 rows to put clothes on

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2324841

My advice is to crazy glue the parts together or else they come apart kind of easily. Because baby clothes are so short you are not using the length of your closet to your advantage.

Because we have only one dresser we needed more space for folded cothes so we got this

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_04990013000P?
vName=Baby&cName=Nursery&sName=Decor&psid=FROOGLE0 1&sid=IDx20070921x00003a

We have some shelf space on top of the closet so I bought some bins for extra sheets/blankets toys towels, etc to make it more organized

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2307547

They come in many colors we used blue and brown.

Also I got these hangers to hang matching sets together to make it easier for hubby to get Tristan ready (and Match) plus putting 2 pieces on one hanger leaves more room for other clothes.

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2792530

We also used these at the beginning to keep the different sizes seperate and easier to find

This is his closet with those closet extenders. The bottom of the closet would be a waste of space w/o them. There is still enough room to put bins on the floor too.

Well we had to put in a new pole for the hangers so we put in an extra deep shelf above it and have baskets up there to store things in, then DH built the shelves below the pole so we could store more things in baskets or just on the shelves and left the middle open so that we could store some of the bigger things in there, right now we have the big boxes in there from our shower gifts like the pack n' play. It has given us soooo much room and storage, more than I thought, but the nice thing is that the shelves below are removable so when he grows we could alway take them out if we needed to.

Fantastic idea for a thread! I just bought a ton of stuff to organize the closet, but haven't started yet -- mainly because we still need to paint the closet and we don't have a single thing to put in it yet. But I can't wait to see photos of your excellent ideas so I can use them myself!

We originally had a built in closet unit with drawers and a couple of small areas to hang clothes with drawers. It was not very functional so we had someone take it out and DH bought a closet unit at Lowes. ShelfTrack 8-in-1 Closet Organizer

The open concept works really good and gives us more space.
(We don't have an updated picture without all the pink and it is packed full of boy stuff now! lol)

I noticed a lot of you have removed the doors off your closets. Does it give you more room or is it purely for convience reasons? I don't like the closet doors on Tristan's closet and I feel like it makes it smaller and since they are sliding doors they sweak alot.

Koala Baby Sage Canvas Closet Organizer - Babies 'R' Us - Babies "R" Us

I have been wanting to get one of these.. Allows you to hang clothes on a higher bar then uses cubby holes for more things below in what would be wasted space.

I also want a couple of these to go on the inside door of the closet and maybe on the back of the door into the nursery
Koala Baby Canvas 4 Pocket Organizer - Sage - Babies 'R' Us - Babies "R" Us

They have both these items at BRU right now for but one get 50% off as well as bins that match.

For us not having the doors gives us more room and it is easier to get things out of the closet. We also have a crib near it which would not leave enough room for a door to open on the side. The closet is a standard size and if we want to add doors later all we have to do is go and buy them.

I will take a picture when the babe gets up from his nap. We got all of our stuff from Lowe's - shelves, brackets, bins, etc. We still have the doors on his closet. His everyday clothes are in his dresser. So, this is all stuff that will fit him later on.

He's up!

I really like the system from One Step Ahead. I plan to order that pretty soon. They have free shipping right now and there are lots of 15% off coupon codes that actually work on the internet!
