I am in desperate need of feedback here. Heres the quick story. My first and second beta were normal (39 and 169). After that, they were not doubling so I was told it was an impending m/c or ectopic. Went in last Thursday and we were greatful that my Beta dropped from 381 to 210, and they thought they saw something very small in my uterus. Thought I would start bleeding this weekend, but did not. Went in today for bloodwork and my Beta shot up to 681. I am suppose to go in again tomorrow for more blood and another u/s. They don't really know what to saw...for some reason the placenta is still growing.

Has this happened to anyone? I am at 6 weeks, so my Beta should be much higher than it is. Please share any stories that relate to this, I could use anything right now. I'm just so frustrated, ready to get this over with but it has been lingering for 2 weeks now.

you need to go back in for another u/s. the day before my ectopic ruptured, I was in the ER and they thought they 'saw something' in my uterus. Turns out it was a spot of blood or something. And my beta was in the 3000s. You really can't see much at where your beta currently is, or was. It very well still could be ectopic. If your Dr is 100% sure this is not a viable pregnancy, has he/she mentioned methotrexate to terminate it?

Sorry I have nothing to add by way of advice, but I'm sending you hugs. I know this 'limbo' can be worse than getting a clear BFN. I feel for you and I hope you find resolution soon!

I agree with Jen. My first beta and 2nd betas were also normal-ish.. 90 and 201.. but pretty low for 21 and 23 dpo. 4 days later it was only up to like 265 and the u/s showed nothing in my uterus so I was scheduled for a D&C. 3-4 days after the D&C my beta was up to 400-something but since it had been several days since the last draw, they couldn't be certain that it hadn't gone up and was now on the way back down. 2 days later it was up over 1000 and I went in the same day for a methotrexate shot. I was lucky that mine was taken care of before it had a chance to rupture. Since your doctor has already determined that this is not a viable pregnancy, it would seem a sound decision to administer the methotrexate. I'm so very sorry you're going through this.

Yes, the plan is to have the shot tomorrow or Thursday. I am so dissapointed since Thursday my numbers went down so it was promising that it was not ectopic. Now that scenario has reared it's ugly head. It is promising to see that you had natural pregnancy after an ectopic! That is my biggest concern...what our future will hold with chances of conceiving if it is. IVF is not an option for us.

if you are going to do the methotrexate shot, make sure you stop taking your prenatal vitamin and any extra folic acid you may be taking as it can interfere with the shot. and please make sure your clinic monitors you after. I had the shot, then my ectopic ruptured the next day. If I can protect someone from having to go through what I had gone though...

I am so sorry you had to go through this roller coaster. My RE told me to wait 6 weeks before TTC after shot (which was 2 cycles for me). Some may say 3 cycles (the metho goes out of your system by 6 weeks though. I had an HSG done after the ectopic to make sure my other tube was open. I would recommend it to rule out tubal damage.

Oh no! The HSG test! I thought I was done with that...most painful experience of my life. It will be worth the pain...just keep looking at the end goal.

We are having a consult with our RE in a few weeks to determine the best course of action. His intial thought was to go back to the method that got us here (which was natural). I don't think he realized that was how we got preggers because he looked suprised. Maybe he was looking for some extra dollars we would spend on IUIs (ha! only kidding)

I am just ready to move on from this and start trying again. What are your thoughts on going back to natural or IUI? Did you doctor have any concerns since you had an ectopic? I know your chances become less if you have one, but you are definitely an inspiration to me. Thanks for sharing.
