i know it looks like it won't be warm enough, but i couldn't resist it! so she will just have to be covered w/ blankets if it's cool out. if you buy a going home outfit from there make sure and buy their preemie size. it really isn't that tiny and the salesperson said that even though it says up to 7 lbs, it's more like 8 lbs.

I love janie and jack! And that's pretty much the cutest baby outfit ever! I can't wait to see pics of little lily in it.

I wish I had a specific place to suggest. I am very lucky that both my husband's mom and my mom kept the dress/outfit that we went home from the hospital in. So we are going to do the same. Now truthfully we will probably take pics with them in them and then change them to 1. something warmer and 2. something more comfortable.

I would say Janie and Jack too! My son was 6lbs7oz and wore only premie for the first few weeks. By far they have the nicest premie stuff around and some cute side tie items which are so easy in the beginning. Be sure to think about the fact that you'll need to put the seatbeat between their legs so a long gown won't work too well but those sleeping gowns are great at night! Especially if you can find the ones with the buttons/snaps down the front so you don't have to go over their heads and try to fish their little arms through.

I got a cute Carter's organic outfit for Tristan to come home in (I love Carter's clothing). Like the tired dummies we were at the time we forgot to take pics of him in it and changed him when we got home. It is saved in his hope chest.

I agree-both gymboree and janie and jack are great choices. Mine will be born in the cold winter, so I want something warm and fuzzy for mine, haven't found anything yet. I'm sure I'll need preemie stuff too.

Yeah, thanks ladies...I'd never heard of Janie and Jack before this thread and I went on line to have a look-see so the next thing I know I'm on ebay for six hours and I ended up dropping two hundred dollars on a couple of cute outfits...LOL.

The Children's Place, Gymboree, Carter's, etc. When we went in to the hospital on Sunday it was 55 degrees and I was sweating (gotta love the extra heat sensors while pregnant) but when we were discharged on Thursday morning it was cold, windy and 35 degrees! So Ethan came home in a fleece sleeper by Carters. I packed about three different outfits for him to come home in, all were Carters. At 8 lbs 7.5 oz he was in newborn clothes for about a week or two.
