Mimosa, you and I are only a couple days apart, depending on how IUI dates compare to IVF dates. You said it perfectly: waiting to be happy. I'm not getting excited until I see the heartbeat next week. We won't tell anyone except the select few who knew about the IVF until after the first trimester. Like the insurance commercial: Cautiously optimistic, waiting to be happy, yep I'm there.
Oh, I also felt totally clueless this morning when I made my pregnancy u/s appt. and my first prenatal appt. They were asking me stuff and I was just like, I don't know, we've never gotten this far before!

it is all scary, but my midwife said something like, "You will worry all of your life about this child. You have to sit back and have some metered faith that this baby will be okay."
I am trying despite the issues that pop up to actually enjoy the pregnancy.

Like Mrswog, I'm a professional worrier too. I was a basket case during the first trimester. I thought the second trimester would be so much less stressful, well, like roxanne, now I worry about the babies coming too early, the cervix length, etc. I swear, it never ends!! I know when they are born, I will be terrified hoping they are breathing on their own, etc. Ugh, for me the worrying is going nowhere. But after 12 weeks, the miscarriage rates go way down. Good luck and congrats!!!!

Hey I was wondering where to go from the other thread. When do you have you first scan? I go next Tuesday and I cannot wait. I am like you worried, but excited at the same time. We need to follow each other since I think we are only days apart. Along with Christina too. How are you feeling?

Professional worrier here too. After one previous m/c, I was so worried the entire first trimester. I was able to relax a little in the 2nd trimester, but had a scare with abnormal quad screen results. The baby is fine, but, there will always something to worry about. Once I started to feel the baby kick, I knew she was healthy and that brought the worry meter way down. I still worry if she doesn't move enough, but I am finally able to relax a little and enjoy. Cautiously optimistic is exactly how I would describe my first trimester (and really sick-lol). Worrying is part of parenthood, welcome to the club and enjoy your pregnancy.
