Okay.....so I had a few HPT's waiting for me to use them...LOL and since my U/S isn't scheduled until 7/14 I decided I'd POAS to see that BFP again

Well, the lines were very very light. As light as the day that my BETA was 32 (yes I kept all my HPTs). They did get darker before my BETA, and now they are getting lighter.

I panicked and called in my SIL, a sonographer. She did a scan on me and only saw a small black line, no sac or fetal pole yet I'm 5w, 4d (3d on U/S day), so I know that it's normal not to see much this early.....but I had a chemical last year so I'm really worried.

My doctor only did 2 BETA's, but I also have 2 local BETA's....again I'm a bit crazy since the chemical last year.

So my BETA's went like this:
Local went from 32 to 104 in 48 hours
RE's went from 54 to 254 in 96 hours.

So both were doubling....and I plan on calling to see if I can get one locally on Monday, but until then....did any of you see your HPT's get lighter after positive BETAs and darker test?

I'm using FRER, so I would think the dye in them is pretty consistent. I am still feeling crampy too, but then I've been cramping since ER so that's not a symptom I can rely on.

My evening nausea has kind of subsided too....ugghhh, I hate all these mixed signals.

So any experience with lighter HPT's and still going on to a positive pregnancy? And anyone not see anything at 5w3d on an U/S?

Can't help you with the lighter hpt but i do know that you won't be able to see anything on the u/s this earlier. I'll that is not a chemical for you. take care

Did she do trans/vag ? I know I snuck in early and had one done ( I work in Radiology ) but we did just trans abd, at about 5 weeks - All you could see was a sac, it truely looked empty.

Little did we know at that time how much we were missing, there was another sac in there and a set of identical's in the other, it's still SOO early ! Goodluck !

I had bleeding at 5w4d so we went into the er for for labs and a u/s so in the u/s room she did a trans vag and we saw nothing .. i cried and cried ... 3 days later we went into my re and it was just to early .. because there was my lil sac .. came back 5 days later and we saw the heart beat... i think you guys did it too early congrats !!!

Yep, she did an abdominal as well as a vag. Both showed nothing but a little black line/smudge. I feel a bit more crampy this morning and my FMU HPT was lighter than yesterday. I'm afraid it's another chemical I'll go in on Monday for a BETA and the results on Tuesday will tell a lot. Praying I'm wrong.

faith ask for orders and go to a lab.. or if your office has a lab go there ...or i use to work for a medi center .. we ran our own labs a beta takes about 2hrs

Thanks. My RE is 2 hours away....so by the time they open at 8 and I call them, I wouldn't have time to get there by 10:00 for the same day BETA test. If I go locally to my OB/GYN office, they send their labs off so it takes a full 24 hours but my insurance pays for them since they are in network.

Not sure what they'd charge at like a LabCorp?.....it's crazy to have all these negative emotional feelings while trying to stay so positive for obvious reasons They say the chance of having more than 1 chemical are slim.....and we have had bio children with absolutely no issues getting pregnant before so I'm just amazed that it's been so difficult for me to get pregnant through IVF.

I don't know if this helps or not, but this is my u/s at 5w, transvag. Just a little black spot. At 6w, we could BARELY see his lil heart beating on the screen, but at 7w, we could hear it and it was beating nice n strong.

I used the ClearBlue Digital HPT's, so I have no experience or advice to offer with the lightness/darkness of the lines.

Very early on, before I'd even had my betas this time, I was on a POAS-roll, (one or two a day), and on one particular day I just suddenly didn't feel pregnant anymore. My husband suggested I POAS one more time and.... eek! Yes, it was lighter.

Scared me to death, but everything was fine. A lot depends on the dye lot in the sticks, the time of day you do your HPT, (I know they say it doesn't matter, but it does!), and the concentration of your urine.

As others here have said, it's probably way to early to see much more than a smudge on an u/s.

Hang in there and don't panic yet.

Thanks again ladies. My stomach has been really crampy today....pretty much constant all day. My SIL (that did the sonogram) said she didn't see any fluid or anything in the cavity and said the cervix looked good too so not sure if you can tell by a scan if you're losing the pregnancy or not? I'm glad she didn't see any fluid though....that made me feel better.

These cramps are killing me today though. They are dull, but pretty constant. I can usually move around and they stop though....and AF cramps don't do that. I've also had an upset stomach but then again....who wouldn't with this kind of stress LOL

Thank you again ladies. I'm praying that God grants us this dream and doesn't take it away from us since we've gotten this far.
