I had my first IUI 3 wks ago & found out it was a last friday. They took my blood friday & my progesterone was 30.5 they rechecked monday & it was still 30.5 & they rechecked today & it dropped to 18.5. The whole time my HCG level keeps rising which they say is good but put me on a progesterone pills & I take 200mg once a day. They said that if I was to have a problem this is the easiest one to correct with the pills. I've been trying to read up on this & it is making me worry. We tried so hard to finally get our BFP & I don't want anything to happen. If anyone has had the same situation could you please let me know if the pills helped.. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm such a worrier..

I was on progesterone pills 2x day as well as suppositories 3x day....this pregnancy is going great so I think (I am no dr) that if your beta keeps rising and they straighten out your progesterone you should be ok. Happpy growin!

My progestrone started off low. They increased my dose of crinone to 3 a day. When it still fluctuated and went down (and mine went alot lower than yours...see signature) they had me start the PIO shots. It went up alot. I am over 16weeks with a perfect little peanut. It is definately a correctable problem. Congrats on your .

As long as you are on progesterone supplements, your baby is going to be just fine! I got pregnant naturally this time and informed the nurse practitioner that was assigned to me at my OB's office that I needed my progesterone level checked (because of problems with PCOS). She didn't even want to do it at first and said that it was controversial if supplements even helped! Well, I insisted and she checked it to find that it was only 8.1! Even though my beta was rising fabulously, she prepared me for the worst. They dropped to 6.4 before they finally got the supplements to me, but rose to 10.8 after 2 days of supplements. As you can see, my levels were extremely low and they figured there was no way that I would be able to continue this pregnancy at first. I am VERY happy to say that I am now 27 1/2 weeks and never would have made it here without insisting on supplements. They do work! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Can you ask your doctor about a progesterone shots? I think you can get much from that than pills and get in your system faster. Progesterone is needed to keep the baby because we don't make our own 'till 12 weeks. I have had the same problem but mine was my Estrogen and I was given 6 pills a day right away to give my system a good push. But the fact that your HCG is rising that's also a good sign. Take care! Hey Mwalls! Nice to see you on the boards again!

I did the PIO for a long time, and I remember it leaking out a little bit everytime, and I had welts for weeks to come. After I got the BFP they immediatly put me on the vaginal supositories because they stated that it gets into the system dfaster by absorbtion and will release evenly every day. I was on it twice a day, and mine came with the applicators. I very much prefered the vaginal supositories over the PIO, and they never checked my progesterone levels... they just put me on them. Granted I did IVF so my protocol is different from yours, but I never had any problems with the inserts. I stayed on them until eleven weeks (you can only be on the progesterone for a specific amount of time... unless directed otherwise with different doeses) and it is SO scary to go off the medication. You become mentally addicted to them lol. I do reccomend wearing panty liners because your body will "expel" what it does not need, and that can get messy. In fact, just buy a big ol box of panty liners lol.... there will be more than just progesterone later lol.

so they checked my numbers again on monday & my hc went from 428 to over 2500! & my progesterone went back up to 25.1! i'm so excited! i go for my first ultrasound on monday! thanks for all the responses & i hope everyone has a happy & healthy pregnancy!

Congrats!!!!! I am glad you dont need to be on the progesterone!!!! It is a pain lol.

It went GREAT!! We are expecting TWINS!! We're so happy The doc said everything looks good & I go back on Nov 30th for another us. Hearing the two little heartbeats was amazing!

I was on progestrone supp 3xs a day.
One time my pharmacy was unable to get the refill in time. I had to go to the OB ofc to get samples to hold me over till the order came in. The pharmacy asked my doctor if it was okay to get a script to give me the oral pill. My doctor said no because that goes right to your liver, the supp goes right to your uterus.
