Should I be at all concerned re: u/s...
Hey, I had my first u/s on Fri., which was a week-week 1/2 early due to me traveling all this coming week. Fetal pole was measuring at 5week5day, but should have been 6wk2 or 3 days. There was no heartbeat but I am not too concerned about that since it was so early (and my RE wasn't concerned). However, I heard measurements could be off by 2 days, but it was off by 4-5 days. I know that 2 days might just be an average, and everything is variable, but what are others' thoughts? Ugh, if only I wasn't traveling next week and could go in for another next week!

I wouldn't be concerned. I've measured 3 days behind one week then 1 day behind a week later. I gauge my reactions off my dr. If she doesn't seem concerned, then I try not to be. I believe at this stage, it's not too unusual for the numbers to be off a little.

With my son he consistently measured 5 days behind...my u/s tech said it was nothing to worry about, it is when it gets to be around a week difference is when you worry....so your little bean sounds just fine. CONGRATS on being preggo!

congrats on your pregnancy! only if you measure over a week behind/ahead do they blink a eye, enjoy and happy travels!

Yay, heartbeat u/s went wonderfully!
As an update, I was worried about my embryo measuring behind at first, pre-heartbeat, at a 5wk5day u/s, but we had a 7 wk5day u/s on Monday and it was measuring about 4 days ahead now, and had a great HB of 163. We were so relieved. This IS our first rodeo so don't really know what to expect. My H burst out in tears after the staff left the room. Way to hold it together publicly!

First trip to RE: 8/4/09 First suggested course of action: IVF, but can "try" IUI HSG & U/S normal Baseline CD3 b/w= slight high on E2 (per 2 REs at my office) 8/26/09 Start clomid for IUI#1 IUI #1 9/5/09 -3 follies, MFI post wash counts 1 milion.  - BFNIUI#2 9/30/09 -Post wash counts 6 mil. - 10/14 Beta 1=107, 10/16 Beta2=294, 10/24 Beta 3=5986IVF#1 WAS scheduled for end of Nov. ER (shelving of course! Yay!)

Congratulations!! I wanted to let you know that I was in the same situation - my first u/s showed baby measuring 5wk 5d and RE said it "should" have been 6wk 2d. I just had my second u/s on Monday and baby was measuring just fine and we saw the heartbeat at 167bpm. I think everything always was just fine, these babies are already making their parents worry about them

MIZAustin, that sounds great!!! I am so happy that everything is working out so far. I feel like after trying and waiting for so long we had a bit of a rough start with this pregnancy with a scare in my 2nd beta then my RE scaring me a little bit at the first ultrasound. I'm
that everything from here on out goes beautifully and we get to hold our precious babies in June!!!
