ok. So I went to see high risk dr today for my 7 weeks and hoping to see more.. last week at RE we saw 3 heartbeats.. today we only saw 2 .. but 3 yolk sacs.. Im so confused..what could have happend.. I never spotted or anything.. This new dr.. Is very cold and I do not like him.. he told me to come back in 3 WEEKS and we could see more.. I called my RE he said he can get me back in next week to scan to make me feel better..so angry with dr.. and upset about losing one...what could have happend.. we still arent able to see if there is a membrane separted the 2 babies

I'm so sorry this is happening and that your doctor is such a jerk. I had a similiar experience, but it was with just one baby. I had a doctor tell me he didn't see the heartbeat even though my husband kept pointing at the screen and asking him what the "fluttering" movement was. The doctor told me to come back in a week, but that he didn't think the pregnancy was viable. He was also a big jerk. I went to a different doctor the next day and there was a heartbeat-my DH could see it but the stupid doctor couldn't!!! In the end, I ended up having a missed miscarriage. The heartbeat just stops and nothing expels right away- I don't know why. So, it is possible to lose one of the babies without spotting. I think you will feel better after you can get in to see your RE. I don't want to give you false hope, but maybe you just had a bad doctor who couldn't read the scan. Don't give up hope yet. Just try to stay calm. You need to be stress free and heathly for all your babies. Hang in there sweetie and wait to see what the RE says.

MY high risk OB is not that nice too. Very cold! Maybe that is just how most perinatal docs are? I am so sorry it was such a terrible experince. Try not to worry if you can!

It took me 3 perinatologists within the same practice before I found a nice one. Maybe your RE can recommend someone specific. I hope everything is ok at your next scan.

Unfortunately it's called a vanishing twin and it's not too uncommon but that doesn't make it any easier. If you aren't comfortable with the high risk OB ask your RE for his opinion. So glad they can get you in next week for another scan. Don't let one bad doctor ruin your pregnancy, find someone who is kinder and who makes you more comfortable.

Hi Danyel -

I am sorry you are going through this and your doctor is being such a jerk. I had a vanishing twin, and had it not been for my frequent u/s, I would have never known that I had a second baby and then that we lost it. I never bled or anything. As Jen mentioned, it's quite common. I pray everything works out with the babies and you do not have to put up with this insensitive doctor for the next 9 months.

xoxo

I'm sorry you're having to worry so much. I second the notion of finding another perinatologist if you can. There are ones out there with pleasant, even kind, bedside manner.

My perinatologist is a bear as well, but he's good and we don't have to see him that often so we'll be keeping ours. The first appt I had with him we were excited to find out what we were having, but he ruined it with his attitude. If you're not happy with yours, their may be others at the same clinic and maybe your OB could recommend one. I'll be praying for your little ones. I hope all is okay.

Lightbulb Doc

Sorry to hear about your loss, and please do continue looking for that "right" perinatal doc, we had 4 in the practice we used, and three out of the four were AMAZING, so there really are good ones out there. I hope you do some thing special for your little one that you lost, even if it's just a prayer. I'll say one for you, and know it's normal to be sad.

I hope that you get to find out more soon about your other babies.
Congrats!
