Is something wrong with me?

Hello ladies~
I am wonderinf if something is wrong with me or if I am not the only newly pregnant one who is absolutely exhausted!! I feel like I can't catch my breath...I feel winded even just sitting down and its really scaring me. I usually have a ton of energy and I literally feel like I can't breathe! Is anyone else feeling this at all? I am almost 6 weeks pregnant by the way...no other symptoms besides sore swollen boobies. Thanks for any input you have!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I was totally exhausted for the 1st trimester and I also had a hard time breathing. My iron was on the low side so they had me take an iron supplement. You may want to ask your doctor to test you to see if you need to take one. Don''t do it without your doctors approval though.

It is normal to be really exhausted in the beginning of your pregnancy. Try to get as much rest as you can. You will have more energy once you get to your 2nd trimester. All the best to you.

I did nothing but sleep for the first trimester. And it still wasn't enough!

Congrats!

I'm completely exhausted, and feel like I've been short of breath some too. I think it's normal, but I'm also going to bring it up at my appt next week, in case she might want to see if I'm anemic or somethihg.

CONGRATS on the pregnancy!!

As the other ladies have said, being tired is totally normal. I am a bit concerned that you're having such a hard time breathing though. I'm an ex-smoker who is not in such great shape and I haven't had any breathlessness unless I'm actually exerting myself. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different, so it might not be anything...the problem is that it could be something though. I can't seem to recall her name now but the blonde southern lady on Court TV had difficulty catching her breath during her twin pregnancy. It turns out that she had a blod clot in her lungs. I don't mean to be an alarmist, but I wouldn't have known anything about this type of symptom if I hadn't heard her story. I think you need to call your doctor today. Personally, I'd rather seem a little silly to my doctor than ignore symptoms that are unusual. You're probably just fine, but let us know what they say.

If you are having trouble breathing -- especially when you're not exerting yourself -- I'd check with your doctor. One of my friends ended up with fluid on her lungs from undiagnosed PCOS. But I know I started getting winded pretty easily early on in pregnancy. I chalked it up to increasing blood volume.

Thanks Ladies~
I spoke with the nurse at my RE's office and she said that it could also be signs of OHSS. That being said she did say that its a little late for OHSS but I am not taking any chances. She told me to call my OB here in Utah and see if they could check me out. I am going up to see my OBgyn here in Utah and will let ya'll know when I get back. THANKS EVERYONE!!

Thank goodness you're getting it checked out. I meant OHSS rather than PCOS, anyway. Since I haven't had either of those conditions, I get my acronyms messed up.

Good luck.

Good to hear you are getting it checked out but just wanted to let you know I too have had shortness of breath and trouble breathing, especially after climbing stairs or doing simple things like making the bed or putting clothes in the wash. It has been going on from the beginning and I was told that it was normal due to increased blood volume and just pregnancy in general. I was also pretty exhausted and slept very frequently!

You are not alone Melanee! I am exhausted as well and I've actually been sleeping most of the day since it's Saturday! I feel very winded, especially in the morning. I'm sure it's normal pregnancy tiredness but I would ask about the iron just to be on the safe side! Congratulations to you!
