V, I am so happy for you! Phew! What a relief!

As to your question, there is really no pre-existing condition any more, if you think about it, almost everyone joins the employers' health insurance benefits with already a pre-existing condition and some of these conditions are already long-term, such as high cholesterol, high/low blood pressure, migraines, thyroid. . . you name it.
With this, I am trying to say to you that pregnancy is a temporary condition and it cannot be classified as a preexisting condition to prevent enrollment. Also, if the insurance carrier does that, they may possibly be facing discrimination for doing this to pregnant women.
I work in Human Resources and part of my job is to oversee the benefits enrollment so I can tell you that in CT, and hopefully in all other states, we don't carry a pre-existing condition clause to prevent enrollment.
