Wow! That's amazing! Now I'm even more excited for ours...we are going in 2 weeks, I'll be 30w1d. I really hope she's cooperative and we get to see her face. She's pretty active, so I think we'll be able to coax her into giving us some face time!

Make sure u eat and either drink some orange juice or something really cold just b4 the sono. My baby had her face hidden by her hands so the tech had us go eat something to stimulate her and had us come back in. The baby is usually really active after meals so I just knew that would be the trick.

I hope u have as much fun as we did, good luck.

Just curious, did your insurance pay for the 4-D sono? I go to a pretty good hi-tech facility, but they don't offer doing a 4-D sono. Was this something you asked for? Now I really want to have this done!

The info sheet that my OB's office gives out says that, so far, MOST insurance companies consider 4D to be an elective service...I've never heard of anyone's insurance (no matter how good it is) covering a 4D. Maybe only if the doc orders it for some specific reason, but I don't know what that would be. But...you never know! :-)

We had one covered by insurance only because they thought that there was something wrong with the brain development of our baby. He is just fine, but we got a few 3D/4D shots.

Can the 3d/4d scan show abnomalities like down's? Do you know if it's a helpful diagnositic tool? It seems that this scan would be more accurate than blood tests, but I could be wrong.

We had a few 3D and 4D shots during our anatomy scans. However, they don't look near as good as yours does due to the age of the baby. My little guy looked like a little skeleton, no fat on his body but that was back at 17 weeks!

Wow Shirlee, urs looks great. Due to mine being at 29 weeks I couldnt get the pics u did. She's packing on the punds right now so the main focus would be her face.
For the ladies that inquired about the insurance paying for the 4d, I doubt it. I happened to find a place in my area, NYC with really affordable prices. It would definitely be an elective procedure therefore insurance will not pay. At our place we were obligated to sign papers letting us now that this was purely for entertainment purposes and not diagnostic. Whatever the case I found it so worth it.
Good Luck to all.......

I love the 3D/4D u/s. We had two scheduled and just did our last one, last week at 30 weeks. Make sure to drink lost of fluid beforehand, so that they can see better. You don't have to have a full bladder though. We also had one done by our OB because there was a concern with a cyst in the baby's brain, but all turned out OK.
